Da Da Da! We're Good to GO!

Yes indeed, we are ready to rock and roll. I've sent the emails out. They basically say this:

Thank you all for signing up, registration has been closed and now we have 19 contestants.

I ran the player list through a randomizer perl script and have come up with totally random seeding. As you all know the rules (if you don't, read them, now) I won't go over them in this. But let's all have a good tournament.

Now to the specifics. All games are going to be played on my private server. This does logging and will eliminate disputes about cheating and the like. The instructions to access this are easy as pie.

1) You must have logged into battle.net atleast ONCE since you got Starcraft.

2) Simply download this file and then double click it. It will ask if you're sure you want to merge the changes into your registery, Click Yes. This changes the server list to my server instead of the normal battle.net.

3) Open Starcraft. Click Multiplayer. Click Expantion (ie, Brood War). Then highlight "Battle.net" and click "OK".

4) Create a new account. Use the same nick as you registered, to remove confusion. Hopefully your partner will be there already waiting.

5) Create the game, or have your partner create it and join! Then Play! As for lag, the server has nothing to do with it. If you're lagging when you play, it's likely routers between you and your opponent. Hope there's no lag! :)

To get back into regular battle.net download this file and then double click it. You must close Starcraft before doing this.

I updated the rules. And the contestants are being updated as I get signups. I'll email everyone after the signup is closed.

Well, I put off writing this introduction for quite a while. I don't know why I did, but now that I'm writing it, I might as well get DOWN TO BUSINESS.

I guess the important thing is the Rules of the competition, which you can access over in the left navigation bar. I'm hoping everything will run smoothly.

Why are we doing this?

Simply put, we are having this tournament for fun. Starcraft is wildly popular throughout the world, and a lot of Megazeuxers and ZZTers play.

What do you get if you win?

Nothing. Well, nothing except bragging rights and your name up on this website. You'll be known as the best Starcraft player among all contestants. That's always fun. Even if you don't win, you can atleast brag to your friends you placed <whatever> in a tournament. ;)

When is it?

Well, I believe the first matches will take place on Friday September 1st. But you MUST be signed up before August 25th. If you haven't signed up by then, it's too late!
