Imladris Roleplay Logs

On January 4th, 2003 I once again tried my hand at Elendor. I had not recently been to any movie, nor recently re-read any of those wonderful books when I made the decision. I was simply hungry for a new change.

I found a lot had changed since my last visit (I reckon it was back in 95 or 96)

Or maybe I just changed. Regardless, I've made great friends, and made some good RP from time to time. A lot of my logs are here. I've tried to arrange them by date... with newest at the top.

A Grand Spring Feast: A feast, hosted by Idhrendae, draws forth many of the Valley's inhabitants for a night of food and merrymaking.

An Exchange of Gifts: Braldor is in the Great Hall of Nos Menelmen, preparing to depart. Duinlas comes in, and they both start chatting. Braldor gives Duinlas a present for him and Dairwenraiel, a pair of beautiful golden chains with a pendant each. In return, Duinlas gives to the dwarf a parchment with a song he had written. After toasting with some ale that duinlas procured, Braldor retires to get some sleep before his departure.

An Accounting: The Heryn Arwen visits the Arphedor Gondramind in the infirmary, where he recovers slowly from his wounds. Hard questions are asked, but is this the conversation that either of them intended?

A Farewell Feast: The elves of Rivendell offer a farewell feast for the dwarves that have escorted them from Erebor. Merryment and song are made, and the elves hold special gifts for one of their guests: Braldor.

Released!: The healers Tinnulanthir and Glasiel come into the Infirmary of Rivendell, and examine Braldor, Duinlas, and Gondramind. Olathlinn also comes, bringing some books for those that still are in the Infirmary; while Benamar enters with a slight burn on his hand, which is tended by Tinnulanthir. Braldor and Duinlas are released from the Infirmary, while Gondramind is compelled to stay still some more days. However, Glasiel lets Gondramind take a stroll outside.

Of Books and Song: Braldor lies in the Infirmary of Rivendell, tended by the elven healers. The singer Nyashcala enters, bringing a gift for the dwarf: a book of lore. They soon get into conversation, as Braldor offers some dwarven tales about Moria. Duinlas wakes up and joins the conversation, and soon it steer towards the nature of Durin's Bane. Later Benamar enters, a bit burnt in one hand, and joins. The scene ends as Braldor goes to sleep.

Homecoming: The Imladhrim long missing from the valley return at last. And while many among them are wounded, home brings healing.

Many Paths to Tread: Home is finally at hand for the embattled elves returNing from Erebor. But, while paused to rest at the very rim of the valley, a messenger approaches from the Wild with an urgent summons.

So Close, So Far : The troupe of Imladrhirm and Ereborian naugrim finally cross the Gladden Pass and reach the western side of the Misty Mountains. So close to home now, they celebrate with a snowball fight. But the celebration is interrupted in a terrifying and deadly manner...

Looking For Gunfur: Braldor goes scouting with the elves Gondramind, Duinlas, Idhrendae, Helegrhofel, and Silothiel, looking for the dwarf Gunfur, who has disappeared. But soon they learn what happened to him, as they find the bloodied gear of their companion... and the grey fur of a warg.

Merry Meeting: The free peoples of Middle Earth come together for food, drink and dance in the Halls of Grimbeorn

Ariving to Erebor: The elves of Rivendell, guided by Runir (temp-alted by Braldor) finally make it to the Great Gates of Erebor, where they are greeted by Braldor, Thane of Bundazanul and Advisor to King Dain. Many fair words are exchanged, as Braldor meets many of the elves he had befriended during his time in Rivendell for Elrond's Council. The elves enter Erebor, and Braldor offers them rest before a small tour of the Mountain.

The Will Behind Words: Gondramind and Duinlas speak of the recent battle. Gondramind berates the young poet for disobeying him, and the poet has the gall to berate the Hirdan for other perceived injustices.

The Battle of the Foothills: The artisans of Imladris have made it through the High Pass in spite of bad weather and close encounters with Olog. Now, scouting the foothills, they come across a party of BeorNings. Tensions rise over a "toll" and the presense of a naug... but in the face of a common enemy, can they fight together?

Dwarf Messangers and Meals: Runir, dwarven messanger from Erebor, arrives in the valley on a task from Braldor. He seeks out Gondramind, but instead finds Duinlas and is dragged into a meal with the others of the valley before heading off to find Gondramind

LearNing Languages and Wrestling: Feandril teaches some beginNing Eothrik to a group of eager students, and then after she leaves, use of the only textbook is determined by an arm wrestling contest!

In the Caverns of Nos Menelmen: Braldor of Erebor goes to the caverns of Nos Menelmen, where the Menelmen elves have a feast for him. They chat of various things, including the upcoming Council, their shared love of caverns, and about songs and history. There is food aplenty, and ale and wine, and Braldor is guided through the different caverns of Nos menelmen, on which he comments extensively about their beauty. Finally, Braldor has to leave, as he must prepare with King Dain for Elrond's Council.

Swapping Stories: As Braldor comes out of the wagon, he finds some elves and Men in the Front Yard of the Last Homely House, and soon they start chatting. Soon he starts swapping stories about the Battle of Five Armies with the elf Duinlas, and later about the story of Earendil with Gilwen of Imladris.

Heated Discussion on the Porch: In a cool, starry night the elf Thileithel stands at the porch. Soon, Braldor the dwarf and Vinyarod the elf join him, and a conversation ensues. They are joined by several other elves, a couple of BeorNings. Soon the conversation takes a wrong turn, as Vinyarod and Braldor start again discussing about dwarves and elves, each with very different points of view. Things start to get ugly, and King Dain himself gets out of the dwarven wagon to investigate what was happeNing. Also, Duinlas of Rivendell arrived, and Ceorn and him, with cooler heads, prevail in counseling to calm down. Vinyarod, who didn't even acknowledged Dain's presence, angered the King, who departed with angry words. Vinyarod also left, and Braldor finally asked for forgiveness to their host if his words had caused any problems.

Harsh Words on the Bridge: Arinkalya and Vinyarod are talking in near the shore of the Bruinen when Braldor comes down the trail, singing. They soon start chatting about the Council, and Braldor speaks about the fell things he saw in Mirkwood. Soon Duinlas and Khazar join. Vinyarod, once more, assumes an condescending attitude towards the dwarves, which angers both of them. Khazar reacts, and both Braldor and Duinlas try to calm both Khazar and Vinyarod. Tempers start to get out of control, but Khazar finally listens to Braldor's words and decides to leave. Braldor directs some words to Vinyarod, recriminating him for his attitude, before also leaving.
