cerena 2004/8/17 - 0:27:15The timer is just ridiculously off on this one. I think total I may have spent around three hours on it. I kept getting up and taking breaks. If I didn't already have a picture saved, I would have paused and resumed. Anyway, this is a picture of me (the fox) with my almost-boyfriend Swami (the tiger XD) on the grass in the Quad at The University of the South (mah skool). That's sortof where I first fell in love with him. He was very shy! ^_^ At any rate, I really enjoyed doing this one. I didn't know you could right click to select colors until the very end. @_@ It would have been so helpful all these times I've used oekaki... *dies* mika-kun 2004/8/17 - 12:38:31 That's kind of an unusual style, the one on the left has a Picasso look to her, not entirely surreal but hinting at it... The guy on the right looks odd (but good) as I'd have expected him to have more tiger features (like the shape of his head for example) but he doesn't so it kinda gives him a unique tiger (but not) kind of look......Well done! it looks good. mao 2004/8/17 - 21:29:20 You can right-click to select colours? o_o LOL, oookay, apparently I have a lot to learn about oekaki applets. ^^; I'm absolutely in love with the style you used on the fox's hair! It's so pretty. It reminds me of the style used in Walt Disney's Hercules, hehe. The colouring is so soft and gorgeous. Part of it is that I used too much grass to cover his hair on one side, and so his head looks thinner, part of it is the angle, too. It seemed okay in the sketch, but I probably should have changed it before inking. I didn't want them to be mirror images of each other, but... mao 2004/8/16 - 7:52:3Omigosh... I can't believe I spent this much time on an oekaki. ^^; I actually did this one with my mouse. The batteries for my tablet DIED ON ME. (And I can't find AAAA batteries anywhere at a REASONABLE price. Anyone know a good place? x_x) Lol, not that I'm trying to toot my own horn, but I guess using a tablet must've really helped my hand-eye coordination or something, because using a mouse seems a lot easier now. You other tabby-users should try mousing a pic or two and see if you notice a difference, too. =D Yes, that's a cross in the background. No, I wasn't trying to add any sort of religious symbolism. Hope that's okay. ^^; I was really pinched for BG ideas... I suck at BG's. x_x Um, C&C welcome. You did a good job of drawing it, too. coleslaw 2004/8/19 - 17:36:56 cool headdress, and i love her eyeshadows (the rhinestones are a nice effect) i like how you added the hazel to her eyes. the skin shading is nice! the feathers look a little anemic--a good way to draw them is to draw a main shaft and use a smaller brush to draw lines that go out really far, and keep in mind that they're pretty stiff. i love the eyebrows, they look really realistic! the whites of the eyes should be seriously greyed down, especially on the left side because it's so dark except for the eye. nice job! :D |

I love the colors you used and the flow of lines is very good. Compositionally it's a bit weak towards the bottom right corner.
