hello, love margaret.
lenapo 2004/5/25 - 13:45:18
wow... o.o and the animation is especially fun to watch!
pie 2004/5/25 - 14:7:28
I was wondering when you'd pop up again ^.^ I love all the different hearts, and how everything just blends together.
mika-kun 2004/5/25 - 14:15:19
WOW! all your stuff is just soooooo......WOW!
kelli 2004/5/25 - 15:34:14
Wow, this is cool....I don't know why, but your art always makes me think of oil paintings.
heavenlystrike 2004/5/25 - 15:50:8
awww it looks like a puppeeeet! puppet! hehe i love your art like every one else here :3 and every picture is so sweet and dreamy, you can't do nothing else but love it :D
lauren 2004/5/25 - 16:19:15
Oh, wow. This is...
Wow. I can't even begin. I watched the animation and...just WOW. The texture and colouring of this is just astounding.
syzygy 2004/5/25 - 16:27:11
omg, Heartstrings! Thats nifty... your pictures always make me feel fuzzy inside ^__^ Theyre so familiar yet so indredibly unique ^__^ I cant get over the heartsrings though.
jellybean 2004/5/25 - 18:18:8
haha heartstrings! nice job on the girl. i was waiting to see your work again! Amazing work, I cant even begin. The thing about your art is that with anyone else, someone would say the neck is small or something, but thats just part or your very unique and very entertaining style

mitsu 2004/5/25 - 19:34:37
Eeeeee, Margaret ish back! Let us lavish kisses and compliments upon her head!! ^__^ I love (x34) the hearts and striped shirt. It's amazing how much character this subject can have with only minimal facial features. Your pictures speak to me!! :D
gleeful1 2004/5/25 - 21:32:39
whoa. what a fun ride watching the animation! *.* i like how u do ur lighting and making everything all hazy like ^^'''
maggie_sue 2004/5/25 - 23:56:8
wow, the animation didn't even capture all your brushstrokes! Wow, it makes me dizzy to watch, you color over and darken so many times... You should illustrate childrens' books, that would be fun. I love the different textures and how they go in different directions too.
bbh 2004/5/25 - 23:58:1
Wonderful detail! And the hearts on strings have so many patterns, it's so cute! Awesome-ness jorb. JOB, I mean job.
z1ggy 2004/5/26 - 11:12:44
Oooh it's another one of those ^^ Beautiful ^^
toasterfrog67 2004/5/26 - 16:24:11
This is marvelous! I feel like she's trying to catch the hearts, sort of like we all want to be loved as the background message...or am I wrong? Either way, this is just...stunning. You have wonderfully original ideas.

Woa, Sugoi! The detail and coloring is simply amazing! The hair is well contrasted and the gleems and shadows are perfectly put in! And the anatomy of his chest...shexah! I guess his profile is bothering me a little. The porportion seems akward, but not so very noticeable. I love this picture, way to go!
ayadragonsheart 2004/5/24 - 13:9:45
yah i realized i kinda stuck his knee out a bit to far to the right... but ty for the C&C i wuvs it.^^

jellybean 2004/5/14 - 23:45:1

irkyturkey 2004/5/15 - 12:22:13
ohh shes gorgeous, her hair is really well done..nice designs and the background looks good faded and blurred like that..
mitsu 2004/5/15 - 20:34:35
Oh my, the cloth is superbly rendered!! :D Great use of blurring to create depth, as well.
senobdec 2004/5/17 - 4:13:4
That's really sweet. Like everyone else said, the cloth looks superb. And I kinda like the paintly look for the face and hair. The blurred BG is nice too.
kougra_girl 2004/5/17 - 19:43:27

caym 2004/5/11 - 19:40:8
Wow wow I'm saving this too, it's wonderfully done, and I find it very erotic despite the lack of any "visual" stuff. Very nice, great movement, light, style, composition, a real piece of art.
senobdec 2004/5/11 - 19:59:58
Lovely. Very nice indeed. I love how seemingly rough the shading is... yet still much more detailed than first meets the eye. XD. Go viola.
peanutsweeper 2004/5/11 - 21:24:35
Haha, it makes me think of Morissey...I really like this, it's so elegant and minimal and smoodgey..

decided to actually put some effort forth in an oekaki drawing for the first time.. haha as you can tell, i slacked off in the end.. oh well. sloppy sloppy :P
looks kind of demented.. lol
sunkite 2004/5/11 - 9:0:35
gehh.. its hard making images look anatomically correct when youre double jointed.. apparently my sister can't bend her arm like the upper right one, but i can ._. hahaha. im a freak lol :[ oh well.
jellybean 2004/5/11 - 9:52:58
yeah, im also double jointed. Besides the doubly-jointed arm, that is one great pic! fantastic shading and i love the expression! also, cool bg!!!

kaiomi 2004/5/11 - 11:38:52
Omg!!! The coloring is just awesome! I love the skintones ^_^ very very nice job!
milkshake 2004/5/11 - 13:7:37
wow great pic. The colouring is wonderful, and the arms and hands are perfect...I can bend my hand like that too, I wasn't aware that it was wierd O.o
pie 2004/5/11 - 13:58:29
*bends* I can put my hands like that too, I think O.o The coloring on this is simply brilliant, especially the skin.
coleslaw 2004/5/11 - 15:11:43
that arm is mostly possible. :)

i love this picture, the dress is so beautiful, so is her expression and her hair, the lineart is beautiful, and the coloring is amazing!! especially the skin coloring. beautiful, i'm very impressed O:
tayley-chan 2004/5/11 - 16:49:58
I'm hynotised by those eyes.

This is in the doodle room WHY?
tim_kai 2004/5/11 - 20:5:17
Quite frankly, I would like to know that myself. This is NOT doodle room material. You need to get that fixed immediately. There is just SOMEthing about that pose that is so endearing. . . sorta a mix of longing and resignation.
obiewolf 2004/5/11 - 20:48:33
this is..well... lovely! the skin tones are so nicely done and the bars and background are really abstract. i dont think this belongs in the doodle room ^^
senobdec 2004/5/11 - 21:25:51
Friggin awesome. Although... I'm not double jointed but I think I can bend my wrist that way... then again, I have huge hands. The shading on the face and clothes is awesome. The "droopy" BG and the bars is really cool. POLISHED ROOM at least.
mao 2004/5/11 - 23:18:18
this is DEFINITELY polished room material! it's so cool. o__o the colouring really makes the pic stand out. you can shade and highlight perfectly! the bg is interesting too, hehe. (i can bend my arm like that, btw. it's not hard. x_x;;)
kaira 2004/5/12 - 2:55:35
This is awesome!!! ^_^ I love the expression... and I can bend my arm like that too!!! ...but then again, perhaps I'm just weird, after all, I do have an uneven amount of bones in my hands (one has 6, and the other has 5 XP) Awesome pic!
sunkite 2004/5/12 - 4:41:15
hey! thanks for the comments everyone :] im glad you liked it! i'm glad i'm not a freak after all then! haha. i usually don't put much effort forth in oekaki drawings, but since people seem to like it when i do, i think i'll do it more every so often =] thanks again! i appreciate your comments! (i wasnt sure if this was polished room quality so i just threw it in the doodle room to be on the safe side hehe)
artanis 2004/5/12 - 14:34:10
aw! She's adorable X3 The shading on her face is gorgeous ^_^ I do that- the arm position- all the time on the swings (yes, I love to swing! XD) Her eyes are so very pretty ^_^
irkyturkey 2004/5/14 - 3:36:4
wow this is absolutely gorgeous! i LOVE the colours, very beautiful..
gleeful1 2004/5/25 - 0:31:5

I'm 15 (soon to be 16), a student and...feel insignificant compaired to your pic... you can put most of your info that you want to share with others in your profile instead of writing it out everytime you post a pic (it's easier that way for you) and...wah, you pic looks so...professional! blargh, what chance do I have against a graphic designer? *sniffle*...but welcome!

Hmmm maybe that evil exam today affected me more than I thought...I was trying to work out a character design for one of the antagonists in my story. Not sure if it is there yet, but I think I did get somewhere in drawing this.
lavalizard 2004/5/3 - 17:46:8
Now that has to be the best oekaki I've seen in months. The highlights~! So gorgeous. I love the colors and the sense of coldness mixed with heat. I also love the icicles on his hat, and the transparency effect you did on them. It would take all day to write up everything I like about this, so I'll stop now before it gets out of hand:-). Excellent work!

Oh wow. I love the wings. The shading style you use is awesome, as are the colors you used.
draco_plato 2004/4/24 - 13:24:8
I don't know what to say....it's really really good! I wish I could draw like that T_T. The shading is so great and I'm particularly fond of the eyes.

On this pic, I love the 'atmosphere'. The contrast is indeed very well done, and it looks like an oil painting. I also like how the necklace falls and the contrast of shapes between the curvy dress, wings and necklace, and the very straight hair. In other words, it's perfect, the composition is great and even the border matches the whole pic. I agree with Mitsu : this must go to the hall of fame without any doubt !
As for the other picture (the linked one), I admire how much work you put into it, it's so detailed and precise. Her glance is so expressive and her features are uncommon but all the more beautiful. The right area of the face is done with such skill it looks like 3D. In my opinion it would be perfect with a little more contrast on the back of the face, but it's still a strickingly beautiful picture !

Hmmm.... interesting. Very slight anatomy issues, but doesn't detract from this being a very beautiful pic. The skin shading is nothing short of fantastic.

Aw my gawd. Thats so incredibly superb. ;3; I wish I could draw and color like that. But, this somewhat reminds me of a childhood matter. Its hard to explain, but it brings back memories, shall I say? n_n

I love how you used the patterns in a way thats hardly even noticible. And the colors are great too. ^_^
mitsu 2004/4/15 - 21:20:42
*W* Excellent use of patterns and colors!!!! The hanger and bobbin (I believe that's what one calls a thread thingy :p) look grrrrrreat! XD Very unique and refreshing style.
jellybean 2004/4/15 - 22:47:46
amazing. how do you make those patterns? i have never seen them! TELL ME!!!
senobdec 2004/4/16 - 1:15:16
Some of them are in textures in Shi Painter Pro... other than that I have no idea. This IS really nice looking... looks kinda like a pastel crayon on slightly rough board.... I like.
ryosen 2004/4/16 - 5:31:0
polished indeed!! the texture is so fine!!! its so smooth!! nice colour combi too!
mrgrt 2004/4/16 - 8:14:25
Hello, and thankyou for such grace and love!!!

I have been looking throughout all of these rooms and am really happy to see everyone's work. I will give back the love by drawing more and dropping a line here and there.

The patterns in this are yes from shipainterpro? and they have a weird button that made some of it look like chalk, i guess. but really i made a lot of transparent boxes and large brush/texture combos to "hide" the stark patterns.

to someone who mentioned: yes this is much about memory, and how we forget things to remember later, good and bad. as far as i can tell, i am quite "old" compared to many of you guys!!!! but i am more like a kid now than i ever was, and this has helped my drawing so so so much.

love margaret

peanutsweeper 2004/4/16 - 17:47:11
It reminds me a lot of Delirium from The Sandman..especially the text at the top. I love the softness to the colors and all the texture. Great picture!
embo 2004/4/16 - 18:2:17
i think if there was ever any texture to perfectly define the meaning of nostalgia, it would be these textures you used. Simply wonderful--hall of fame material.
caym 2004/4/17 - 8:24:45
Quite an unusual thing to see on an oekaki board... Anyway it's beautiful, the texture is awesome.
lorelai 2004/5/23 - 17:56:22
