I'm totally exhausted ! It took me two days and a total of approximately 8 hours (I saved it a couple of times). The reference for the background is a picture taken by my father (again), and the rest is a picture by DA user ~princessirulan.
For senobdec, whose comment gave me the motivation for this picture. Yay, no more lineart ! XD
coleslaw 2004/10/24 - 17:53:22
...Everytime I post a worth-while picture, someone outdoes me u_u
I can't believe that dress! So beautiful, everything is perfectly colored!! I really, really don't like you TT_TT Just kidding, of course :O
maggie_sue 2004/10/24 - 18:3:14
her dress is divine...I love how you used compliments to really fill in those cast shadows. This also has an intriguing composition, like she's just walking by. beautiful background as well. The dress above all else blows me away. Wonderful job.
rae 2004/10/24 - 18:12:16
the scenery looks very real and the dress too. extremely beautiful! the way you painted it reminds me of old oil paintings of nobles in finery... but her position in the painting makes it quirky and modern.
mika-kun 2004/10/24 - 18:13:45
This cannot possibly exist as it is impossible to draw that good....but everytime I open my eyes it is still there.....I am truly in shock!
mitsu 2004/10/24 - 18:38:10
:[_____] Ohemefgee! That's...it's...ghafduid freakin' amazing and super-human!! :O Just WOW! It reminds me of the painting on the cover of my Art History textbook, and that's saying something I should think! *shoves Caym violently towards the Hall of Fame* If ever a picture deserved it, it's this one. I cannot recall ever seeing such a brilliantly executed oekaki on this board since I joined. But even more wonderful than the sheer joy it brings to my eyes to behold, this picture has inspired me to spend some actual time and effort on my oekakis starting... when I have more time. :p Anyway, truly MAGNIFICENT work! Consider me an eternal fan. :D
mika-kun 2004/10/24 - 18:45:17
I am still staring at it....and still in shock!
keko 2004/10/24 - 19:45:59
Goodness gracious. I'm actually left speechless. There's so much to say and I'm too lazy to say it. XD The material of the dress, the folds, the background, the STROKES you've used!!!, the skin, the colors. This is definitely definitely Hall of Fame worthy. I'd have to agree with Mitsu on that I haven't seen such a well done oekaki since I've been here (or on any oekaki for that matter). If I hadn't seen the background, I would've been fooled into thinking that this was truly a photo. Gorgeous.
jellybean 2004/10/24 - 20:0:43
that IS a photograph, right?
im in awe. im speechless! this is soo beautiful! special delivery, Hall of Fame!!
shanwang 2004/10/24 - 20:21:10
I want to touch the silky satiny dress! This is amazing unbelievable inexplicable extraodinary astounding inconceivable etc... I don't know what to say!!!!!!!!!! The lighting is so classic.
shanwang 2004/10/24 - 20:21:31
OMG I Had to express more of my love for this!!
luck 2004/10/24 - 20:48:19
Wow. Wow. Wow! That is so intensely good I can't NOT look at it. Goooorgeous~ (Sadly, my mind cannot form anything more coherent than this...The rest of it is just mushy praise, and that would just get redundant.) <3<3<3<3
saffira 2004/10/24 - 21:4:32
...I think I just had an oekaki-gasm. SO! BEAUTIFUL! God, dress is so, so beautiful. Certainly hall of fame material.
kaira 2004/10/24 - 21:28:6
Oh my gosh... The fabric!! You can totally tell it's the shiny satiny type that's super hard to sew with *is trying to sew with that material currently* but looks uberly awesome on ruffley, foldy dresses!! Awesome, awesome, awesome job!!!
senobdec 2004/10/24 - 23:57:10
No need to thank me certainly. Your talent and dedication is incredible and wholly worthy of praise (and responsibility for this fantastic piece). Wonderful painting and an excellent composition. I think I'll just stare at it while I spam people over ICQ to look at it XD. *saves*

padalyn 2004/10/17 - 18:25:8

fs 2004/10/17 - 19:51:42
neil gaiman? oh right, sandman's masky thing. yeah. um..
the leather and the hand are startling in their realisticness.. 's really good. and i like the chalk-effect of the e=mc2.
senobdec 2004/10/17 - 19:57:0
Hoho! Very pretty. That leather looks incredible. Yay for random smiley faces XD. Stunning.
kaye 2004/10/17 - 20:42:48

hanna 2004/10/18 - 16:39:48

Spirit of the dragon.
Ah, nothing better than oekakiing instead of working on college apps. ^o^
syzygy 2004/10/9 - 21:10:42
I agree. Nothing like oekakiing (or looking at pretty oekaki by Mitsu) while one is supposed to be reading Moby Dick.
maggie_sue 2004/10/9 - 23:13:9
college apps...been there, done that, bleh. I know how it is, love.
saturnraven 2004/10/10 - 0:15:25
>___>; Bunny doesn't do work. Its beautiful none the less! I love the design on her chest especially. Keep pumping 'em out Mitsu-kun!
mika-kun 2004/10/10 - 6:44:13
Good god!, this totally makes the word 'awesome' seem inadequate, the style is amazing, her eyes are fantastic....ah to hell with it! off to the polished room with you....:)
kaye 2004/10/10 - 17:8:16
This is beyond gorgeous ;_; Absolutely beautiful. The lighting, shading...colours. Well I've always loved your style anyway. <3
happywaterbottle 2004/10/10 - 22:17:36
wooow amaaazing! *_* the colors are simply gorgeous! Do I notice a dragon? the yellowish... thing? o.ô
oooh you left the animation! *watches*
great job as always, master mitsu!
happywaterbottle 2004/10/10 - 22:18:42

kaiomi 2004/10/11 - 2:40:3

aussie 2004/10/16 - 8:58:28
Wow.. that's great. It almost looks like you used oil paints, or something. I love the colors. :3
monkeyman 2004/10/17 - 18:49:25
absolutely astounding!! it is wonderful to see such beautiful work on here these days...
embo 2004/10/20 - 19:56:51
aaaand i don't understand why i am not scrolling through a sea of comments. Your work always has this stunning conceptual side to it that makes me shiver. I love the dichotomized feelings of warmth and coldness. lighting and coloring are absolutely delicious. <:O !!!!
anjiira 2004/10/21 - 1:3:45
Wow... i'm in shock. This is so subtle and beautiful. the contrasting colours have been used so well in shading it. Excellent composition. Brilliant execution. Not to mention the tiny tendrily details. Agghuifhnhoasd droolworthy. *_____*
lorelai 2005/5/3 - 19:19:38
Hall of Fame'd. Congrats! I love this one O.O

rae 2004/10/8 - 0:16:37
I hope it's good enough for my first 'polished' piece. Took long enough anyway... it's just scenery though, kinda boring.
mika-kun 2004/10/8 - 1:9:36
Definately polished, 'boring'...definately not, gorgeous rendering of rocks and that sky is simply perfect, amazing level of skill...excellent!....:)
draco_plato 2004/10/8 - 4:36:18
wow....this is just.....wow....this would be perfect for the background of some piece of animation.
keko 2004/10/8 - 11:24:58
This is beautiful. The cracks in the rocks make all the difference. The clouds in the background are really nice too. The overall foggy feel of this is great. <3
kaye 2004/10/8 - 19:33:2
whoa! This is absolutely mind blowing!I love the soft colours and the sun peeking through and the cracks definately add texture and character. This is awesome ;_;
kiwi 2004/10/8 - 19:33:18
Wooow.... awesomeness! The shading on everything is so well done and the view is just incredible! The cracks in the rocks are really cool, and I just love the clouds and that sky! wai...so cool XD
senobdec 2004/10/9 - 1:28:45
Very neat. So soft. Who thought rock could look soft?
mitsu 2004/10/9 - 19:15:45
I second senobdec--very soft and dream-like. Mmm I feel like taking a nap on those rocks. :p Lovely render. :)
kaiomi 2004/10/11 - 2:36:42
the coloring is so pretty...I want to take one of those rocks home with me ^^
milkshake 2004/10/11 - 15:37:53
wow, this has such a wonderful feel to it! Very dream like. The rocks look soft and hard at the same time.
aussie 2004/10/16 - 8:59:43
Wow. This is very realistic, and very impressive.
embo 2004/10/20 - 19:58:41
it does have a little bit too much romanticism in it for me, but i still admire your dexterity for rendering the many aspects and shades of rocks and clouds. definitely, you have some technical skill. nice job. :D
lorelai 2005/1/16 - 16:4:3
Hall of Fame-ed, Congratulations~!
rae 2005/1/20 - 16:2:48

demo-demo 2004/10/3 - 14:15:52
this is beautiful, mika. it's completely amazing!
i also wanted to thank you for helping me with my katakana last weekend.
kougra_girl 2004/10/3 - 15:8:40
i like the shading and eyes ^.^ the pencil is AWESOME
very realistic. and she seems to be popping out O.o
senobdec 2004/10/3 - 16:21:59
Beautiful. I see you like your pencils with a short end. Neat sketch XD.
embo 2004/10/3 - 16:32:34
oh my god. this is one of my favorites EVER. completely amazing. i also like the inconspicuous way you signed your name.
kaye 2004/10/3 - 16:57:36
@_@ *gapes with her mouth wide open* Wow. This is just...brilliant. As mentioned above, the pencil is beyond looking like I've some how glued a pencil to my computer screen. Again, great job with the leather! Great shading as usual. It's like I can see her materialising through the paper...
Very cool ;_;
pie 2004/10/3 - 17:25:0
This is too cool! I love everything about it.
happywaterbottle 2004/10/3 - 19:46:35
*faints* this is one darn kewl looking pencil! it reminds me of my art june exam where we had to draw our hand holding something, and I drew my hand holding a pencil. and it looked so real (i found so) that i tried to push it away at some point o.-
anywaays... awesome pic as usual! its soo pwetty!
kaira 2004/10/3 - 21:45:43
I wish my sketches started like that... or even ended like that ^___^ The pencil is awesome... it looks like I can just pick it up *tries* ^^;; I love how it looks all detailed and sorta moves into sketchyness ^^ Awesome job!!!
kaiomi 2004/10/3 - 23:50:10
whoo...it's very pretty i like how you made the background a bit smudged here and there and her face is incredible. Your realism skills rock!
kelli 2004/10/4 - 12:52:41
Wow....this reminds me of this optical illusion thing I saw once...it was a drawing of two hands, and each one held a pencil, and each pencil was drawing the other hand...once again, great job.
luck 2004/10/4 - 22:17:11
Have I mentioned that I adore you? XD
This is so cool I don't even think I can tell you. Def a fave oekaki. Original, but it still totally has that flawless realism in it. Awesome.
lorelai 2004/10/6 - 11:49:3
I moved it to the polished room because it's a definite candidate for Hall of Fame soon!!!
mogily 2004/10/6 - 19:16:36
that's like... way cool. :D
mitsu 2004/10/9 - 19:21:18
:C~~~~ It looks like she's about to jump straight off the page. Way cool! ^-^ And the pencil is so incredibly, fantastically, uber-super-real. ^-^ Hah, you were off to such a great start, I can't help but wish it were "finished". :p
silverlight 2004/11/9 - 16:33:38

Hardly ever use Shi Painter. Pretty fun but hard to read the names of the tools on those funky looking icons.
I just felt like drawing hills and sky today. :)
I just felt like drawing hills and sky.
senobdec 2004/10/2 - 21:49:40
Hoho, very lovely. I think you and Shi Painter mix well. The sky and the texture on the fur looks lovely.
mitsu 2004/10/2 - 22:31:6
Woooeh, it looks so three-dee! Sky + birdies = vereh well done. ^_^
ri-su 2004/10/2 - 23:17:18
that scene is so pretty. i love the way you drew the birds.
kaye 2004/10/2 - 23:38:45
Wow! The sky looks positively b-e-a-uuuutiful. I can almost pick those birds and clouds right off the computer screen =]. Hair and tail also look so furry. *pets it* I hope he isn't dying with that arrow in his head xD it's cute.
kiwi 2004/10/2 - 23:50:5
That background is pure awesomeness! I love how it sorta fades out as it stretches farther and farther from the viewer, and I love those clouds at the top and the birds!!! Wow, the boarder is a really nice touch too! And that dude! .... He's just so fuzzy looking! I wanna.... fluff him X3 *fuzzes his hair* wheeeee....
irkyturkey 2004/10/3 - 0:3:54
very beautiful, i wish i was there, it looks so peaceful, and the birds they are very well done, its hard to draw birds far away (for me atleast, i draw 'M's) the subtle border gives it a sort of dreamy feel to the picture..very nice indeed
kaira 2004/10/3 - 1:12:47
*tugs tail* ^^;;; I couldn't resist, it's so fluffy and adorable ^^ And that little twig in his hair is uberly cute as well ^^ And as for the sky and hills, we love them. Oh yes, and the birdies!!! The birdies are so awesome! *chases them* Awesome job! ^^
mika-kun 2004/10/3 - 2:57:7
My mind simply cannot accept the depth in this pic, It's as if I could walk into the pic and around the foreground character, and I swear to god if it moves and turns around I shall go insane and be trapped forever in some weird surreal world....truly amazing and truly spooky....:)
lavalizard 2004/10/3 - 3:58:45
I just now noticed I messed up my comment there^_^;. Forgot to backspace the extra stuff.
I'm glad y'all like the picture^_^. Thanks for all the nice comments^_^
maggie_sue 2004/10/3 - 4:9:37
hey, man, where you been? lol, I guess I could ask myself the same thing...Chisai, correct? I've always admired your work---I stalk you at the broken ladder, lol.
happywaterbottle 2004/10/3 - 9:13:21

dekutree64 2004/10/4 - 6:55:22
Can I squeeze him? Looks like a super soft Chisai plushie^_^
And of course the birds are the coolest, and the clouds up around them. The hills somehow remind me of Bob-omb Battlefield from Maro64...
Much niftiness all around

At last I have drawn again. It's been so long, I'm amazed I still remember how. Still slow as dirt though, I've been doing bits and pieces of this as I get time over the past couple of weeks, so a lot more than 2:40 total time.
Anyway, just a semi-random scene with my story characters at a tall castle/temple type structure. Appearently they are in need of a plan, perhaps how to get across those mountains back there safely.
stargazing 2004/9/25 - 7:54:48
oh..i hope they think of a plan soon...awsome pic
ri-su 2004/9/25 - 11:7:41

lavalizard 2004/9/25 - 18:46:30
Most awesome^__^. They have a lot of personality, and the cloth is done really good. You can really feel the altitude too. I like that bird statue, and the tower's design in general.
The woods are awesome too. That little open patch is the coolest^__^. Looks like a place they probably camped the night before.
Can't wait to see their whole story whenever you get it started^__^
hanna 2004/9/26 - 14:56:39
wow! looks like omething straight out of a storybook or soething! =O
mika-kun 2004/9/26 - 16:0:50

jakusama 2004/9/26 - 20:15:41

I love all the details... and the blonde's face.. very cute... it has almost a sketchy feeling to it, and I love it very much... so much detail... I could stare at it for hours, really.... how do you have the patience to put so much detail into this?! *shakes her head sadly* Wonderful job.. I'd like to see this get Hall of Fame'd... this is spendid.

I just finished ffx for like..the 5th time o_O;;, but I can never get over that last scene T__T. Apologies if this seems like a spoiler ^^;. That bit was just one of my fave FMVs. This took forever because of the friggin' details on costume >_<. As much I as love that surfer-look-alike-retard, Tidus, drawing his clothes drive me insane. Thank goodness for his semi-transparent-ness. C&C welcome..

SO FREAKING PRETTY. >=OOO Hammie, this is like my favourite oekaki of yours so far! <3 That part of the game was so sad. ;__; I seriously almost cried... but then I couldn't because my sister was in the room watching me play. ^^;
Anyway, this 'kaki is so purty... the colours are crazy gorgeous! And the line-art and detailing is superexcellent. >3 Loooove!
draco_plato 2004/7/30 - 2:53:55
That's so freakin' cool!!
kaira 2004/7/30 - 3:37:47
AIEEEE!!! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I looove it! It's so detailed, and pretty, and awesome, and faded, and misty, and beautiful, and nice, and with pyreflies, and-and-and... it's so wonderful that's it's affecting my grammar and ability to form coherent scentences!! Awesome job!!!
kaiomi 2004/7/30 - 4:12:43
...ahhhh!!! You made Tidus look hot! ^__^ I loved that scene...It was uber sad...and my brother completely ruined the scene by blurting out 'what the heck is happening to that guy?' >< Anyway, you drew both characters very well and the glowy thingies are awesome!!!
nani 2004/7/30 - 5:52:26
Awesome. I really did cry at that scene, and yeah, I finished FFX like 10 times. Same with its sequel. XD; I think it should have been a total surprise, the ending I mean... didn't that Fayth d00d explain to Tidus what was going to happen to him anyway? x_X;' No idea. I've been more into playing La Pucelle Tactics :o
ri-su 2004/7/30 - 6:16:40

Phew! *passes out* I'm still kickin' y'know! Minus six and a half hours from the timer and that's how much I worked on this seriously. I know she's off centre but...I don't care at this point! The lineart took me forever (the first three hours) and the stained glass in the background looks a little bit too colourful. This is sort of a 'goodbye for now' pic, cuz I'm gonna be going to camp for a month in a week. I'll see you all in a month (miss ya lots!) C&C welcome.
char 2004/7/25 - 3:5:52
That's so beautiful! I really appreciate that you spent so much time on it, it really looks amazing! The detail on the wings is awesome and I like her tears (in an artistic way)!
kaira 2004/7/25 - 4:19:1
Wow, this is really elabrote and pretty ^_^ Those feathers defined in the wings in the back are just amazing. And I really love how you colored the hair... it's just so shiny. Awesome job! And have fun at camp! ^_^
tayley-chan 2004/7/25 - 7:55:3
Wow... allow me to also compliment those gorgeous wings. So much detail, my God, your patience blows me away.
her expression conveys such a feeling of absolute heartbreak. It's beautiful. The tears are enchanting me.

quentara47 2005/2/17 - 22:15:48
thats beutiful! just like stained glass. It has an erie feel to it as if it would be terrible when the lights are turned out. I'm not making sense. It kinda reminds me of a yu gi oh card.
amethyst-citrine 2005/4/6 - 0:23:54
AW KIWI I MISSED YOU!! You kick so much ass now -- I can't believe how wonderful this is!!! The winds are amazing and oh, that picture is so beautiful. O_O - Amy.
