That's as done as it's gonna get....

Revelation 12:1-2
"A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth."
lorelai 2005/6/8 - 22:21:42
I love the power that goes into every piece of yours :}
sandra 2005/6/8 - 23:24:38
Yay, Maggie Sue! Fantastic color! I love the different textures and how the cloth looks so 3D. Girl, you should illustrate a Bible or something...
mitsu 2005/6/9 - 0:19:34
Who knew the ol' Bible could provide such great material? ;p But, seriously, this is one of my favorite pieces from you. The expressiveness of her face and body is fantastic!!! :)
mika-kun 2005/6/9 - 14:8:16
Whoa! so many textures and effects, a very striking piece indeed, I love her face....:)
snoopywar 2005/6/9 - 20:8:11
I like her dress. ;)
Her hands are especially nice as well. n__n
p_b 2005/6/9 - 23:2:34
wow the emotion is prtrayed very well O_O
and the perspective is well done as well
i like how her stomach glows like she's pregnant with "the sun" too :) yay word play
naty 2005/6/9 - 23:36:7
Yeah the face is grand but mannn o3o so pretty!
the use of warm and cool colors is insanely kickarse :>! C'est manifique! x3!
embo 2005/6/11 - 20:54:44
there is an immense amount of flow and sleekness, plus dexterous colour combinations, in her skirt.

Worked on this a lot. Got way too tired of it. Dun feel like finishing it.
Timer is wrong, I've worked on it like 4 hours.
lorelai 2005/6/9 - 13:55:28
Omg it's so cute!!! Why is it in the test room!? so well done and so finished :( I'm going to move it.
bleau 2005/6/9 - 13:58:40
It's not finished though... All the white stuff on the right..
lorelai 2005/6/9 - 14:1:5
It's only a little bit...and seriously, it does looik like a lot of work. I'd like people to see it :) Don't worry about the white in the back.
mika-kun 2005/6/9 - 14:12:16
Hehehe I was about to move this out of the test room too....looks like you did an amazing amount of work on it, I love the shading work on the clothes and skin, looks like you could run your finger over the screen and feel the pic bulging out, you must promise to finish one like this for us....:)
p_b 2005/6/9 - 23:6:14
the style this is drawn in is very neat
the shines and reflection in the hair is awsome O_O adn the skin shading is so pretty but more intersting to look at than anything
it boggles my mind how you had the patients to do that grass and all the lil circle leaves
oneword to describ this pic = "textur-ific"
sandra 2005/6/10 - 14:43:46
Aww, they're so cute! Nice stylized willow tree!

Critiques loved
blumeaniandglove 2005/6/7 - 1:54:41
well, as i can't do anything with landscapes of anykind, i'll just have to tell you how good it looks.

...

and that's really good. one thing is maybe make the moutians that're farther away easier to see--maby darker in the middles slightly. But don't hold me to that, i've never even tried anyhting like this. But it's amazing.
zestroy 2005/6/7 - 2:5:18
"You sure you want to go in there?"
"Do we have a choice to begin with?"

Critiques loved

EDIT:darkened the background mountains =)
kaiomi 2005/6/7 - 2:8:22
Hot dang that background is awesome! Very excellent job on that glowy thing and the silhouette totally makes the pic.
p_b 2005/6/7 - 10:6:28
i love pictures like this so much 6_6 i wish i could make them myself. the swirlinglight is super cool but the part i like most is that the rock is a very bizarre shape and you were able to make it look possible? if that makes any sence? >_> yuh
but on the rock after the right side goes straight down is goes this way / and there's like a divit there. I don't understand why that's so bright. Unless i'm just i'm understanding the shape
surreal 2005/6/7 - 10:25:10
You are such a talented artist. I love it. <3 The tall dark cave reminds me of the tall mountain in the movie "The Neverending Story", just as it's about to open. Anyone remember? Ahh, such a good movie .. and such a good work of art too! <3
paultheodore 2005/6/7 - 10:49:16
one of the cooler things I seen in a while- the tones are perfect- very intriguing image...
heavenlystrike 2005/6/7 - 11:30:36
woah, this is...amazinG! why is this in doodle room? i'm so impressed o_o
zestroy 2005/6/7 - 11:54:19
Thanks guys =)

p_b: are you refering to the entrance? Cause I don't quite understand the exact spot you were refering to. if its the /\ it is a divet ^^
charsiewpau 2005/6/7 - 13:20:21
Very very nice, I like the purple swirling thing.
mitsu 2005/6/7 - 13:26:52
O_O Breathtaking! Cinematic! Moody! I, say, do paint some more of these far-out landscapes. :DDD
mika-kun 2005/6/7 - 14:46:36
Indeed young Mitsu, I think Zestroy should draw a few more of these (make that lots more), I'm totally digging that special effect you got going on there, beautiful!....read later, draw now!
mariemaia 2005/6/7 - 16:1:32
Okay...just looking at your picture made me want to check back and see if I was still in the Doodle Room. WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS DOING IN HERE?! It's gorgeous!!! That shiny thing on top of that huge rock is awesome!
snoopywar 2005/6/7 - 18:1:35
Just gotta love it. ;)
bananarana 2005/6/7 - 19:26:39
Looks spectacular, but I'm sure you already know that. A little bit of the blood(? yes? Right?) doesn't look as realistic as the rest of your picture--the dot of red on the far left, the red horizontal strip to the right of the dot, and the sideways 'L' of red. Maybe I'm just being picky. Just that in comparison to the rest of the blood(?), those particular areas I pointed out don't fit as well.
Did I already say this picture was marvelous? Hehe. It's spectacular *and* marvelous. Well done.
lorelai 2005/6/7 - 22:48:22
oh my gawwwd. wow.
starlightangel 2005/6/8 - 0:27:23
This is amazing...I love the way you draw clouds and the fading of the hills into the distance. I just have to ask... what is the pink thing? it kind of looks like a lion
zestroy 2005/6/8 - 12:1:50
Thanks guys =D
I didn't expect it to get moved here ^o^
*runs in random circles*
You made my day so much better especially after some project presentation which was basically a flaming festival of the tutor. ;_;

bananarana:well now that I look at it it might be... abit too bright and pink ><" I shouldn't have slacked and just took one of the tones from the light...
Starlightangel: you're refering to the light thing? its just some random power swirls lol =X
sandra 2005/6/8 - 15:25:55
WOW, fantasylicious! Quite LotR-ish, in a very good way. Can't stop staring at those mystical swirls. And the atmospheric perspective is exquisite.
randomfriend 2005/6/8 - 19:4:19
goodness. That's so creative! It's spectacular. Everything's so bleak and barren, but I bet those little people will save the day!

It's just fantastic.
luck 2005/7/19 - 8:4:58
Wow. that's um... pretty awesome. Sorry, got nothing else XP

River.
Hmm, ya know, remind me not to make any more super-meticulous oekakis (like the one in Polished) 'cause they make everything else I do seem lazy. /:p
starlightangel 2005/6/6 - 23:33:20
this is so gorgeous, the background reminds me slightly of Monet's Waterlillies
snoopywar 2005/6/7 - 0:10:23
Crazy shading... Is she crying..? :(
I like her hat.
emerald 2005/6/7 - 0:24:26
This...Is beautiful....:o -Speechless-
maggie_sue 2005/6/7 - 0:25:23
I like how you took almost an impressionistic approach with the bg...makes the subject stand out much more.
zestroy 2005/6/7 - 1:50:52
looking at the number of tiny strokes who can say its really a lazy piece o.@"

blumeaniandglove 2005/6/7 - 1:59:24
Mitsu--stop it, you're scaring me :D

it's wonderful, as always. i love the background and how you made it look like a painting. But she looks so sad even though she's beautiful. Wonderous, once agian.
blumeaniandglove 2005/6/7 - 2:2:6
one more thing....LAZY?! mitsu, you will never seem anything to my tiny brain except amazing :o
heavenlystrike 2005/6/7 - 11:32:55
bah i would like it too look the 1/4 of that when i feel lazy yy ;_; its too beautifull *cries*
charsiewpau 2005/6/7 - 13:19:43
Woah! Mitsu, you are the oekaki master!
mika-kun 2005/6/7 - 15:11:7
Mitsu, go stand in the corner of the room and stay there until you realise that everything you do is amazing....no seriously it is!
mariemaia 2005/6/7 - 16:6:56
Dude. If this is what you call a doodle, then you could probably do all of my best artwork drawing with your feet...
bananarana 2005/6/7 - 17:28:10
New board, new artists (not that mitsu is new, but I'm referring to everyone in general).
How 'bout moving this one to polished, eh? Checked the rules again, and saw nothing against viewers requesting pictures be moved to different boards. I know old TACo frequently had people asking that the deserving pictures be moved to higher quality rooms, and I definitely think this one's deserving.
On a sidenote: Lorelai, I noticed that you said you'd delete Goodbye Pictures from now on. How 'bout deleting just the pics that say "bai taco u suk omg teh pplz hear r sooo mena >:("? Some people may just want to wander to different boards, and wish to leave a nice farewell picture.
...Time for me to disappear again. Whoosh!
lorelai 2005/6/7 - 22:44:1
hehe sorry mitsu i tried to resist but i must say it for the sake of everyone else at this board.... "STFU." XD

kelli 2005/6/8 - 1:17:53
*steals talent and runs away* I LOVE this!
embo 2005/6/8 - 15:25:46
holy crap. do you know how much skill you have with color and composition? if you just picked up a paintbrush you could make masterpieces.

definitely one of your pieces revealing the masterpiece of texture and slightly james tissot portrayals of women............*art dribble* hahahaha you're always good.
sandra 2005/6/8 - 15:32:21
MITSU ART! Oooh, I love how she fades into the mysterious darkness! It looks like a fashionable turn of the century Parisian standing in front of a Derain painting? Mmm, yummy textures and colors. *glee*
p_b 2005/6/9 - 23:13:51
her little parasol is pretty :)
i love the imprsionistic shading. the solid back shadow makes her look like she's trying to hide, which i do when i'm crying, so the whole picture kinda reflects the emotion ( T_T)
naty 2005/6/9 - 23:34:9
*gawks* O>O!
OMFG!! U are like an oekaki goddess! Everything is just so detailed and gorgeous :O!

Such a nice scene. :3
The chandelier is really cool. :D
I like the girl's dress too. n____n
p_b 2005/6/6 - 18:49:23
OMG O_O this reminds so much me of the inside of the belshazar from spaceship warlock (stars outside, fancy interior, red curtains) look it [link]
the chandelier is SO cool looking and the design on the girls dress is pretty :) but that is one very short skirt =o
fid99 2005/6/6 - 18:52:0
omg i love this picture XD so pretty... i love the background and the atmosphere well i like everything :)
keep it up :D
heavenlystrike 2005/6/6 - 19:47:59
the skirt is very short because earlier in the song, they say: '' you got a real short skirt, i want to look up look up...'' so i respected the song ^^
mika-kun 2005/6/7 - 15:48:33
Wow! you sure squeezed a lot of details in there, I particuly like the edges on the pelmit (or whatever the curtain thing is called) and the pattern on the dress, very nice!...:)

happywaterbottle 2005/6/6 - 17:19:24
I agree it's really good :D
her expression is so blank. she really looks unpluged and under reparation.
nice idea :D
I hope she gets better soon XD
snoopywar 2005/6/6 - 18:18:6
I think the way you did her hair is really cool. :)

"He couldn't close his eyes that night. The next day, it would be his real battle, against real ennemies. Sitting on a crate of ammo, he tried his best to comfort himself. He was the best pilot of the military base and trained the most he could. There's no way he could fail. He caressed the handkerchief that she had tied to his leg before his departure, to be original. She was with him, she was waiting for him. He had to come back."

Just made that up... timer is a bit off... this is all solids! w00t!
lorelai 2005/6/5 - 20:46:27
*screams and fights and claws way to front of the line for first comment* WEEEEEE! Nice work. I really like his leather outfit and how you got that rendered in the all-solid style. The sky is amazing too, reminds me a bit of Van Gogh (but not quite, because I don't like Van Gogh and I like your sky heehee)
heavenlystrike 2005/6/5 - 20:51:27
wow i love your clouds, they are gorgeous XD the dude is very cute too :D! are you sure it'S all solids? cuz the coloring really doesnt look like it o_o its really kewl. REALLY. I love the moon too o_o i love...everything :D
mariemaia 2005/6/5 - 21:53:37
curse you...CURSE YOU!!! how can you do this type of art with solids ONLY?!?!
snoopywar 2005/6/5 - 22:56:44
This is just awesome. ;3
p_b 2005/6/5 - 23:15:8
great lighting on the coulds and the guy. i like the moon alot O_O like alot! The halo of light around it makes me very happy and that's silly because the rest of the pic is great but i really like the moon O_O
I didn't even know you could make the pencil tool change opasity x__X I should really try using more than the pen tool everynow and again.
golden_ataris 2005/6/6 - 8:35:18
Ah I like the idea behind this. n.n

The pose/lighting is quite nifty as well. Nice job. :D
surreal 2005/6/6 - 9:51:45
WOW! This is absolutely stunning! I seriously love this! Especially the background, so realistic and mysterious! This is piccie is one of your best, and I'm so happy you put this peice in the Polished Room, because it's more than worthy enough! <33
zestroy 2005/6/6 - 9:58:30
wow, the jacket is really nice... esp when its done in just solids O.O"
mika-kun 2005/6/6 - 12:13:16
I not only like the pic, but I like the little story that goes with it.....the handkerchief tied to the leg like a ladies favour (what ladies used to give Knights who fought for their honour fact fans) is a nice touch, love those menacing clouds too...:)

happywaterbottle 2005/6/4 - 5:21:7

such a pretty oekaki. I love the whole coloring, her dress and the background ^^

mika-kun 2005/6/4 - 7:5:16

You are a Godess to the oekaki art form....I love all the little details you add...the stars on the dress, the moss and crack on the stone, the city in the bg....its awsome!
heavenlystrike 2005/6/4 - 11:52:42

snoopywar 2005/6/4 - 11:59:0
She's so beautiful... Love the background. And the dress....
She really looks like a bride... ;)
randomfriend 2005/6/4 - 17:25:29
I really really love this oekaki. It's very detailed, they little villiage in the backgroung, the little bouquet. It's quite lovely.

I adore the expression on her face. She looks like she's about to run off with the best man.
jakusama 2005/6/4 - 18:34:43
... I don't know whether to worship or hate you... really. Heeeeey... dya wanna like, log on under my name and whip up a doodle or something? *nosebleed* damn this is so pretty... I love the dress... and the sleeves... and the background... and the rainbow... and the flowers.. its so perfect... Anyone wanna bet against me that this will make Hall of Fame? I have my money on yes.. anyone take no?
syzygy 2005/6/4 - 18:35:27
I think Im done posting on the polished board for a while.
You are a goddess. I think Ive said that before on many occasions, but it cant be said enough. Shes absolutely gorgeous.. There are so many intricate details, and jesus. The flowers, the town, the moss, the sheer sleeves, the shading.. it goes on and on and on.
And now I am going to go ponder my total unworthiness.
p_b 2005/6/4 - 18:47:22

maggie_sue 2005/6/5 - 0:6:49
you have no idea how much I missed your work, mitsu! :D I'm so glad some of the other oldies are back--this place was startin' to look sad...but we're all back together again (you, mariemaia, p_b, mika, lorelai, senobdec...etc) missed all you kids muchly---I will probably be visiting more often now...
golden_ataris 2005/6/5 - 0:33:22
By the many paddles of pong oh my!!!!

Just send it to hall of fame straight away. ToT This is beautiful. The Bride contrasts so well with the background and all the subtle things in this is insanely good. O_O I can notice many references to previous works of yours...like the clouds and village. Or maybe that's just me, but ah damn 19 hours. X_X
lorelai 2005/6/5 - 2:19:36

translates to: WOW!!!!
mika-kun 2005/6/5 - 3:38:29
I just realised how much your work reminds me of Pre-Raphaelite art.......you sure you're not an old master re-born?
kaiomi 2005/6/5 - 3:58:44
the transition of colors on her dress is just amazing. The shading is wonderful. If it were possible I would want to marry your art skills XD
angie 2005/6/5 - 13:27:18
omg wow, LOOK AT HER SLEEVES!!! 0.o you're too amazing
lavalizard 2005/6/5 - 16:46:37
Oh man, the cloth O_O. I much love the rich colors and high contrast in this one. That background is so atmospheric and beautiful. The rainbow peeking over the clouds is cool. I'm having to lean closer to the screen to take in all the intricate details, like the leaf pattern on her dress and the flowers. Really really good. :-)
paultheodore 2005/6/6 - 15:45:23
how painterly! all the details are balanced out perfectly. I cant wait to see more.
bananarana 2005/6/7 - 17:34:5
Hall of fame! Hall of fame! ::chants idiotically::

Mmm, sweaters. Fuzzy.
golden_ataris 2005/6/2 - 8:8:11
Wow @ the skin shading. x_x

This is quite a tricky pic, if you just glance at it first, you mightn't notice much, but if you look at the sweater individually first than face, it's very 3d! : O Like popping out in front of you almost. But maybe that's just me.

He kind of reminds me of that guy from the movie 'old school'. Can't remember his name though. ._. Nice job anyway!
kaoruu 2005/6/2 - 15:18:25
Wow, nice job. :D The shading on the face is just... amazing. It looks almost 3d. I love the sweater, too - the texture looks so real, almost like it pops out of the picture.
lorelai 2005/6/3 - 11:29:22
love it! crazy work on the sweater, though I do think the head and sweater look kind of disattached, like they're two pics that were cut and pasted on each other. lack of consistent shading methinks? but still, great work :)
lorelai 2005/6/3 - 12:12:31
