Used reference for wolf: [link]
I've been on a Harry Potter high for awhile now... >_>;
That'd be Lupin and Moony.
Timer's off; slept, ate, went to school, and did homework while this was open.
C & C?
blumeaniandglove 2005/3/8 - 8:24:2
Wow, thats amazing... and your wolf looks so realistic! I love the backround, and the folds in his shirt/tunic thingy and pants.... and, well, all of it! If it wasn't anime style boy, i would have guessed this was a photo, not a picture ^__^
snoopywar 2005/3/8 - 16:25:48
Oh my gosh!! I absolutely love this!! >.<!! ^O^!!
Woooo! Awesome-ness!! :3
Love that hair. And background. Its so beautiful! ^^
jellybean 2005/3/9 - 0:11:45
i'm amazed. that is the coolest thing ever!!
i love the way that the wolf looks like it's from a photo, but the boy is drawn in anime.
i adore the folds in the clothes! *_*
you rock my world, ban-ran XD
kaiomi 2005/3/9 - 2:8:54
That wolf is gorgeous! *huggles* Very awesome folds as well. I love that wolf...^^
kaira 2005/3/9 - 2:46:56
*glomps both of them* ^^
tayley-chan 2005/3/10 - 12:59:3
The detail in this is just blowing my mind O_O
I wish to hug both of them but espeacially the wolf since he looks so dern fluffy ^_^
bananarana 2005/3/10 - 22:11:6
Thanks for the kind comments. =)
I'm a little irked by the wolf's fur... I think I should've layed down a color first, and then drawn the fur on top. It seems to me that there's too many "holes" between the strands. =P Ah well, live and learn.
heavenlystrike 2005/3/11 - 15:30:21
thats amazing! i think its just gorgeous. You can see all the amount of work in the coloring and the wolf's fur shows your great patience, i think this should be hall famed ^^ its amazing work, as usual :3
naty 2005/3/11 - 22:29:11
O-o that is the most beautyful wolf pic i seen this year!! awesome arse work with the lighting shading, and positioning, <3!
watermelon 2005/3/13 - 18:9:13
watermelon 2005/3/13 - 18:10:25
oops. i meant to say...OMG!! OM FRIGGIN G!! THATS SO FRIGGEN GOOD!! really nice fur and i love the guys hair. :D:D
yumeji 2005/3/21 - 3:24:51
I really like this one--perhaps due to the doggy's finely detailed fur coat. But that can also hurt the image overall, because there is so much detail compared to the rest of the image.
For example, the snow seems rather minimalistic compared to the dog, as with the tree in the foreground.
The colour palette on the boy could have consisted of darker shades to even out with the dog's dark hues. Ex: hair, crevices in the clothing, areas near the dog, eyes. Mainly to exaggerate the boy just as much as you did for the canine.
Hope that helps. [^-^]b
lorelai 2005/7/13 - 13:51:51
HoF 7/13/05 - the detail @_@ it blinds!!
xsakuxsakurax 2005/7/20 - 2:29:31
whoah! They both look so freaking Huggable! ^_^ Very lovely job on the detail hun!

Tomiko Van, vocalist of Do As Infinity.
Some minor issues. Eyes. Sweater killed hand. Um... first finished reffed realism oekaki. W0o+!
chris1982 2005/2/10 - 14:43:24
That picture is unfreaking believeable!
snoopywar 2005/2/10 - 16:37:41
That is awesome-ness...
kelli 2005/2/10 - 17:40:28
Wow! Thats amazing
padalyn 2005/2/10 - 18:39:57
the shading is amazing... also love how the bg is totally white... looks awesome
higgins 2005/2/10 - 19:40:52
its very nice...I like the lips & the hair the most.
happywaterbottle 2005/2/10 - 20:40:34
oh mah god, this is awesome! i loove her eyes, they are so well done!
you should use colors, well... that style, more often, it's very beautiful :D
paco 2005/2/10 - 22:19:59
yeah, the eyes are really terrific - extremely lifelike.; i love the highlight on the browbone as well, you did a great job. :D
embo 2005/2/10 - 22:22:46
yeah i GUESS you could say minor issues, but this is great. it doesn't look exactly like the picture and it doesn't have to i think. You left out a lot of the blue tones in the photograph which gave her face a sort of deathly appeal.
but this is nice, i like it a lot. If everyone agrees, i think this should be in the polished room. <:O
senobdec 2005/2/11 - 0:38:39
Thanks everyone. I probably will be trying to fix it sometime... just noticed yet more issues XD. Ah well, I suck at reffed realism, especially in oekaki.
mika-kun 2005/2/11 - 0:56:18
Agreed, in polished it should be, and in polished it is....and Mr Senobdec accuses me of posting in the wrong room!!?....most impressive indeed, I feel I could almost touch her hair....and the wool texture is amazing....excellent work....;)
bananarana 2005/2/11 - 23:57:24
I just saw the FFVII Advent Children trailer, and I remember thinking, "Such intricate detailing on Cloud's sweater." Now, looking at this picture, I'm thinking the same thing. I believe you when you said your hand was killing you. XD;
Long story short: outstanding job on this. It's not a carbon copy of the reference picture, but it's just as aesthetically pleasing.
watermelon 2005/2/12 - 14:34:56
omg omg omg omg HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE DRAW THIS GOOOOD?!?!!?
ug im jelous...hehe...niiiicee:D
caym 2005/2/13 - 7:26:25
I adore your minor issues...

pippi 2005/1/25 - 13:58:34
Amazing. Absolutely amazing. The only thing I could ever think to point out is that her eyes seem a tad too far apart, but it looks like that could be intentional. Great job on the skintones and the jewelry.
snoopywar 2005/1/25 - 15:20:43
She is beautiful. O_O ::wowed::
And kootos on the jewelry.
heavenlystrike 2005/1/25 - 15:33:51
*starts beeing hyper* omg omg omg I missed you so so badly :D Your art is one more gorgeous and ahh so realist yet so fantasist...I love every pixel of it the jewelry is awesome...i wish i had that necklaceee...I'm so glad your back, that makes my day :3 wonderful as always ;)
jellybean 2005/1/25 - 18:40:45
who can forget irkyturkey? your vamp-like style is unforgettably eerie and gorgeous! and of course, this picture is obviously **amazing**!! i've always loved the way you make black clothes...no shading--just black ^^
blumeaniandglove 2005/1/25 - 18:58:51
argh, i be remembering you Turkey-person!
Good to see you back. And i love her eyes and the jewlry..is this one of your vampires?
watermelon 2005/1/25 - 20:24:17
wow. that's all i can say. wow
happywaterbottle 2005/1/25 - 21:15:17
my my my... of course I remember you, irkyturkey, you and your vampire ladies :D
I loove the details in the jewlery and her shirt or whatever it is :3
awesome job as always n.n
paco 2005/1/26 - 20:51:46
this is really beautiful. i love the color scheme of the piece, how the lilacs & pinks of the background are echoed in her skin. the composition is nice as well, slightly off-center so it's not just smack dab in the middle. i really love how polished and smooth and finished it looks, especially the jewelry, and her eyes. the jewelry is so beautiful and complex and tiny! i can only imagine how much time that & the lace must have taken. great job and thanks for the sweet comment on my picture. :)
bananarana 2005/1/26 - 21:45:33
This is so... *pristine.* No sloppy coloring, no sloppy shading.. very clean, very appealing, very nice. This was done so wonderfully; I especially love the lace lining her shirt--so intricate!
Hmm, maybe her shoulders should be a little wider?
On a side note... can I have her jewelry? XD;
milkshake 2005/1/28 - 4:36:52
heeey, I remember you XD great work as always, I love the detail on the necklace and in the hair. Pretty bg too.
caym 2005/1/29 - 15:47:33
How can you forget such drawings... I don't have enough vocabulary in english to describe the awe I feel in front of such a piece of art, or all that I find fantastically executed in it (pretty much everything actually), so I'll just say : "Aaaaaah" (which sums up how I feel right now). I am however particularly attracted by the shadows of the nose and the mouth.
lorelai 2005/7/4 - 3:29:35

And yes, those are really nice eyes! X3
bananarana 2005/1/19 - 23:33:22
Beautiful picture... welcome to TACo! Mmm... I have a fetish with light colored eyes against dark hair. ::purrs:: The background is lovely, coloring is superb, and subject is delicious. >D Look forward to seeing more from you!
char 2005/1/20 - 0:24:44
Wow, such gorgeous shading! Squeee~! I love his nose! <.<;; Nice curly hair too! Great stuff!
jellybean 2005/1/20 - 9:30:41
whoa, gotta love the golden-tan skin and the outfit too! and the blue eyes...and the long dark hair...tell me, how tall is he? (maybe he fits the tall dark and hansome category, eh?) and the background is too cool.
kestrelmas 2005/1/20 - 12:45:18
Hey guys, thanks for the nice comments! ^^ Deril is actually the third in the series. I'm part of a couple Harry Potter RPG's, and I've been doing a series of original characters from one of the games I'm involved in. The Slytherin and Ravenclaw belong to a friend of mine. They're in my devart gallery. Deril's the Hufflepuff, and he's mine. ^^ He's 17, a Virgo, has silver-grey eyes, dyed-black hair about shoulder-blade length, he's about 155 lbs, and stands about 6'1. He just grew into his height recently. >D He had two older brothers, identical twins, who are played by another friend of mine. I still need to find an original Gryff from the game to draw.
Thank you guys again for the warm welcome, and the nice comments! I've been going through a tough time, and I really appreciate the warm sentiments... ^_^
shin-chan 2005/1/20 - 17:24:36
omg what talent you have!!!
I especially love the hair and how his skin turned out

Another fanart ! This time it's my character in Planeshift (yes, it's a male dwarf, and I'm a girl ^^).
I tried a more "comic-like" style, with almost no lineart (it's senobdec fault's again ! XD).
rae 2005/1/3 - 15:14:50
Wow! This is an awesome style. :) I like the colours and shading, and his expression.
artistmonkey 2005/1/3 - 15:36:21
wowwww. so awesome. the shading is amazing. <3
hehehe... he sorta reminds me of Gimli from LOTR. x3;
sexylyon 2005/1/3 - 16:12:27
gorgeous. i love the beard especially and the smooth color transitions in the metal epaulets.
embo 2005/1/3 - 17:33:10
ai! the flat coloring on the beard is so sophisticated, and i love the dullness of the colors--it fits well with your character. :o)
syzygy 2005/1/3 - 18:8:48
You and your coloring! I love your coloring! Its... creamy. Thats the best word I can use. *pets the coloring*
<-- loves the coloring XDXD
hanna 2005/1/4 - 1:53:13
Reminds e of Gimli! ^^ Awesome style. Just wow.
senobdec 2005/1/4 - 13:26:35
Stop blaming me for your brilliance! Seriously. Very nicely done. Lineart isn't bad you know ;p.
mika-kun 2005/1/5 - 13:28:23
That is an amazing style, very impressive, I'm almost convinced you made him rather than drew him......
aikara 2005/1/6 - 15:58:13
I absolutly love the coloring shown here.
mariemaia 2005/1/7 - 0:48:31
Ooh! That's so cool! The style kinda reminds me of a video game I once saw. What I really think is cool is how you highlighted the armor...sorry, I just notice the tiniest things.
milkshake 2005/1/10 - 15:47:18
I've been so intimidated by the greatness of this that I havn't commented until now >.< really, wonderful work. The hair is so simple but gives the impression of fine detail, 'tis awesome! *nods*

gleeful1 2004/12/30 - 21:13:24
*wtf??? i meant i COULD never color so smoothly w/ solids -.-'''' sorry about that.....
kaira 2004/12/30 - 22:12:42
...I really like her hair ^^
nai 2004/12/31 - 21:37:16
Much thankies to you all for your wonderful comments. ^^
Regarding the hair: It was actually inspired from Christina Aguilera during one of those award ceremonies.
blumeaniandglove 2005/1/1 - 0:43:42
I like a lot.
*wishies she had a tablet* Is it actually easier than mouse?
nai 2005/1/1 - 4:11:21
blumeaniandglove: I actually had mixed feelings. Although it maintains that true 'pen/pencil/brush' feeling between your fingers rather than drawing with a huge brick, I noticed the actual diameter is fairly smaller than the mouse.
Ex: in Photoshop I have the cursor set to an ellipse so I can see the area of the paintbrush. However the tablet only colours in about 50%, while the mouse would normally fill in 100%.
I'm not certain if that's just a setting issue or the tablet itself. X__x
But it's definitely lighter on the carpals. (Note: there is no cure for carpal tunnel syndrome).
Hope that helps. ^.^
milkshake 2005/1/2 - 4:17:30
wow, the hair is wonderful, great use of solids! And I love the bg :)
blumeaniandglove 2005/1/2 - 16:17:18

dekutree64 2004/12/30 - 4:20:20
Dude, that's the awesomest! Simple yet complex, with good depth blur too.
nai 2004/12/30 - 6:12:16
Wow--That's amazing. Rarely do I see landscape oekakis anywhere. Mostly it's just anime/nature/anthro or people.
The colours seem just perfect, however in the back of my head I think it couldn't hurt to set more of a contrast by using a few more darker colours to emphasize the details & depth.
mika-kun 2004/12/30 - 8:43:9
Labyrinth! I hope David bowie isn't in there incase he starts singing, love the detail you put into it and in one colour only!...cool.
happywaterbottle 2004/12/30 - 10:33:14
ooh i love this... makes me go all dreamy and i can imagine all sort of stuff hapenning in there.
great job 'o'
jellybean 2004/12/30 - 12:26:13
ooh i know *of* you! you made 2 drawings and they were both hall of famed, you're amazing!!! wonderful detail in this, you should draw more often!!
sexylyon 2004/12/30 - 14:7:55
thanks guys! now i remember why i like it here (grin)
nai: i do agree that it could use more depth of contrast, but my problem has been caution. my screen at home (that i do most drawing on) is very good and pushed toward the lighter end of things - so i can see a lot of depth in shadows (i rarely work with black, trying to use darker hues instead) but people have complained that i often do my drawings so dark that they can't see anything at all! therefore i am experimenting with mid/high tone drawings instead.
jellybean: grin. you remember those? that was a million years ago, and i remember that one of them was a thank you to Megs. is she still around?
and i do draw a lot! just not here, it seems.
kaiomi 2004/12/30 - 16:10:18
Your artwork is just as awesome as ever...hey I remember the phoenix pic too and the one you originally put in the test room >< *pokes* glad you're back.

happywaterbottle 2004/12/4 - 15:47:8
this is gorgeous o_o I love her face, her eyes are so beautiful! she looks real. and the hair o.ô it must have taken eternity to draw it! the anatomy is very well done too. Her dress is amazing too! the "sketchiness" of the folds is very kewl, and adds a lot to the picture! I just love the lighting too!
awesome job! I think it should be in polished n.n
kaiomi 2004/12/4 - 15:50:12
polisheeeed...egads all that detail for her hair and those lights. It really does have a peaceful feel to it. Reminds me of Christmas for some reason ^^
kaira 2004/12/4 - 16:1:24
Yes, we agree... it should be polished!! ^^ I do so like all the detail in the hair, the espression, those folds, and the dappled lighting ^^ *chases the little colorful dots of light* And your handwriting is very pretty ^^ Awesome pic! ^^
jellybean 2004/12/4 - 19:25:34
Lets put this in the hall of fame, geesh! that is drop dead gorgeous! i love your handwriting too ^_~ i absolutely love this, it has such a subtle holiday feel to it! wow, after all that sketching in the test room that you always said wasnt good enough, i think you have the right to be proud of this one!!
