Well... At the discussion of a certain moderator. I have given up on doing banners and stuff on here I guess. Even though I still keep everything I did for my shop to put in my Art School Portfolio. Eh, who cares I guess. Here it is, my Setting Eternity's Night Moon portrait.
jazzy92105 2007/7/9 - 17:27:50
z 2007/7/9 - 18:40:9
You can still draw things for your shop here, just don't post them. :) Why not print-screen them and paste them into MS Paint? That way you can use these Oekaki programmes we all love so much and not congest the boards too much.
I really like the use of textures on this, by the way, and the sharpness of the lines of the moon.
lorelai 2007/7/9 - 18:41:27
It's good to hear that you are building your art school portfolio, I think there is a lot to learn from some of the artists here at rTACo. However I support HWB's enforcement of our unwritten "rule" - community is what makes it fun to hang around this oekaki. :)

5 hours!!! Sounds about right.this was painful for my short attention span and my patients , but it was fun to do the perspective and great practice for shading. C&C is much welcomed.
lorelai 2007/7/9 - 22:47:3
That's very nice, i like the bold coloring ^_^
jakusama 2007/7/12 - 11:29:31
Spiffy! I like the shading.. and the perspective... its all.. cool-like :D

It didn't really take 2 hours... I started it and then got called away from the computer. This here is the small banner for the guild The Next Phase. Another item ordered from my shop.
happywaterbottle 2007/7/9 - 14:43:3
it's nice to see that you show some interest in Rydia TACo, but we like to keep our board focused on community and art... it's not to be used as a personal digital art tool such as photoshop or open canevas to do banners and such for other sites. I know it's not written in the rules, that's why i'm only warning you, but please keep that in mind ;)
you seem to have talent, so we would like to see more of your art, not only your banners.
jazzy92105 2007/7/9 - 16:51:7

negative_x 2007/7/7 - 23:57:51
Heh, coolness. I still haven't met her yet but this kinda makes me want to stay away... "Vampire!"
jakusama 2007/7/8 - 4:17:50
Very cool use of texture and dodge... I love the eyes. nice effects
dark-angel 2007/7/10 - 13:45:20

lorelai 2007/7/5 - 12:37:41

maemay 2007/7/6 - 12:30:8

Yet another style I'm trying out. C&C welcome.
jakusama 2007/7/5 - 10:59:30
I love her hair... its so pretty... the whole thing is really pretty. maybe because I relate to her hips. I wish I looked that sexy in that kind of dress. Very cool.
maemay 2007/7/6 - 12:30:54
I really like the simplicity of this and no line style. Almost like fashion designing to me.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY"--sketch,to celebrate Independence Day,of the United States.Hi,to all the Americans, from this decendent of ancestors who were at the American Revolutionary War(they were in the Swiss Guard,)and related to Pres.John Quincey Adams. (Yeah,I am snobby about my blue-blood.)On the other side of the family,I had ancestors who were in the Civil War.
It does not make me better than anyone else,it just keeps me reminded about the history and the duties of citizens of the U.S. Having family who have been in the U.S. for a long time, gives me perspective about what the United States has become, and the fears that many of us have about it,and it's future. My father's family were "Pennsylvania Dutch," back east, some of the best farmers in the country, and members of my family still are expert gardeners.(Not me,I'm the owner of a Purple thumb.)
So,this is just a little sketch,to wish others Happy $th,and wish you all happy bar-be-quing,and picnicking. During the weekend, I'm going to volunteer to sit in a booth,at the local Oregon state Art and The Vineyard Festival, here, in my county, and help out at our artist's organization. Our weather is in the 80's,and Wed., the 4th, will be in the 90's, nice and hot. Sorry this is not a very good sketch, just a note, almost. Anyhow, have a good time, you all,and anyone in other countries, feel free to celebrate your own national holidays here, just to share them with us all. We in America will save you some corn on the cob!! ( ^ ^ )
jakusama 2007/7/7 - 10:54:16
History is important to remember, and sometimes we forget who we are and where we come from. I'm 50% scottish, 50% everything else, and 100% American and spending my 4th in Paris, France. Being away from home only makes me love it more. Yay! Happy Birthday America! (A little late, I know. )

Trust them not. Though they look like you and I, they know nothing of life. They were conceived in chaos, and that is all they realize and can, therefore, cause.
lorelai 2007/7/5 - 12:39:54
Ooooh. nice description, feels almost Neil Gaiman-ey :O i think you just established the basis for a short story...
blumeaniandglove 2007/7/9 - 20:39:58
haha. i don't think i'd have the patience for a short story about something like this. i'm more of a character driven writer. :)

Hi! It's been a while since I've been here, not sure if anyone remembers me... This is my first oekaki in ... two years? So, sorry if it's boring and feel free to move if it doesn't belong here.
It's a girl! And stars, which were added in an attempt to make the composition more interesting... Mostly I played with the pixels and did a lot of up close work. The hair kind of wore me out, though XD Crit is welcomed, but don't be TOO harsh, I'm still getting the hang of this. (I also realize it kind of looks like she has a black eye... Never did get the hang of heavy eyeliner, really =D )
kaira 2007/7/4 - 0:55:7
Pretty, pretty~ I am loving the eyeshadow shading. And the subtle stars in the hair go quite nicely with the brighter ones on her skin. ^^
jakusama 2007/7/5 - 10:57:28
Yay! Pretty eye! I love it
embo 2007/7/9 - 13:11:26
i remember you! and this is lovely. beautiful stars & shine. :D
maemay 2007/7/10 - 18:43:4

Hehe, the background reminds me of Bleau's work (which I love). The girl reminds me of a blood elf. >_>;

Awww I really like this... I like the hair. And the background. The background rocks. Nice job!

"Tearless" to be without tears
This person is created in the Loveless fasion, but not an actuall character from the show.
jakusama 2007/7/3 - 6:26:10
I really like thr background, its like shooting stars and all cool-like :)

padalyn 2007/6/30 - 8:5:18
oh wow this is neat! love the colour choice and subtleties
embo 2007/6/30 - 10:3:44
this is very nice. I thought the white was flower stems at first, but now I see it's your face emerging through a sheet of falling water and color. I always like stripe-oriented shapes.
happywaterbottle 2007/6/30 - 12:41:53
loving the colors and the motion set by the vertical lines.
it's like a waterfall with rainbow water :D
and then comes in the creepy face (that I noticed thanks to embo)
maemay 2007/6/30 - 15:16:14
WoW!!!!!! I love the colours and the face. That's amazing. If i ws rich this would be in my kitchen.
golden 2007/7/1 - 6:14:45
and it really looks like it's melting..! those colors look really good, too.
lorelai 2007/7/1 - 9:35:12
being from hot climates, i'm pretty good with heat, but my very white boyfriend tends to melt. :) Wish it was a process as pretty as this one though! as it is, it's a lot less pretty and a lot more cranky :)
jakusama 2007/7/1 - 13:51:59
Mitsuuu! You never fail to deliver! Wonderful as always.. I love the color scheme! Very very cool.. and slightly unlike your usual style. I like it. :D
eraserhead 2007/7/2 - 12:59:18
lol, I totally missed the face until someone mentioned it, very cool!

HARA CHAKRA: Emotional identity, oriented to self-gratification
Elements: Water, Moon, Emotion, Orange
z 2007/6/27 - 15:1:51
That's mine, whoo!
dorothyblueeyes 2007/6/28 - 18:25:20
illustrated it very well;uh...if you figured out what mine was, personally, could you draw mine? Not sure how you do that(figure out what chakra you are.)Is that how it works, everyones is different?
jakusama 2007/6/29 - 13:22:3
I don't think I've ever commented on my own 'kaki before...
but in answer to dorothy,
Yes, I plan on doing them all, eventually. And no, one person doesn't generally have one in particular; they have all of them. Sometimes one is stronger than the other ones, but in an ideal balance, all the chakras are in perfect harmony. The link I posted above has the basic information about the different ones and what each power base is. Starting from the lowest - the most primal; self preservation, it works up to the Crown Chakra at the head, which deals with selfless love, spirituality and divine understanding. I find it interesting, anyway. :)
happywaterbottle 2007/6/30 - 12:49:56
I love the colors, its such pretty oranges :)
XD and I love how the circle next to "sexuality" looks like a shocked smiley with the two dots.
can't wait to see your other chakra drawings :)

this is real cool. the colors are pretty awesome and the hands look fantastic! now go get some oils and sell paintings for reals!
embo 2007/6/27 - 0:41:45
very emotive. it looks like Munch stole Cezanne's palette in an effort to make a being who didn't look dead or ethereal.
zestroy 2007/6/27 - 4:42:2
I really really love this
jakusama 2007/6/27 - 7:35:57
your style is quite unusual and equally as intruiging... i must say i look forward to each piece of yours and im particularly fond of this one..
golden 2007/6/28 - 10:55:34
I must say you have illustrated it well :) and I very much agree with embo's comment.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/6/28 - 18:33:56
Thanks for the comments;my color-paint-systems are still pretty screwy,I think.Yeah,I wanted the person to look SICK and full of emotional pain;I realize now, sooner or later our inner selves leak out into our painting style;which probably accounts for the "distortion"of the left hand on the face(besides not having a model.) But,yeah, the pain is distorting the person, too.
mitsu 2007/6/29 - 22:46:31
Super emotive, from the quirky but highly appropriate color choices to the powerful strokes. Don't need to tell you you nailed this one. :>
happywaterbottle 2007/6/30 - 12:45:14
I agree, so much emotion is conveyed in those rough brush strokes. you use colors very well too :D
very impressive drawing! :D
eraserhead 2007/7/2 - 12:57:27
Extremely emotive, pose reminds me of Baroque style paintings, they had lots of women/guys wailing and throwing themselves on the floor.
If you are interested in furthering your figure art Google a guy called Andrew Loomis, famous American figure artist who did loads of tutorial books which are now all available (legally) in PDF format from many art sites (I have them all..:))

Great creature!! yow!
chrislagace 2007/6/26 - 21:14:47
looks like airbrush! i would like this on my long boarding helmet!
jazzy92105 2007/6/26 - 21:36:8
yep its mostly airbrush. :) i do alot of airbrush work.
jakusama 2007/6/27 - 7:37:21
wow... depite my initial reaction (feminine repulsion) to such sort of artwork.. im quite fascinated by this one. nice job!
aura 2007/6/27 - 19:9:12
This caught my atention right away. Really good job with this.
happywaterbottle 2007/6/30 - 12:46:42
wow this could almost pass for a 3d rendition. or airbrush work too... great stuff :)
loving the neon signature too. it kind of takes away the attention from the center of the piece, but it's glowing so it's forgiven XD
