Not 43min. I'd stopped to watch House.

I think others got it wrong when they believe 'all goodness' can be attributed to 'God' while all the bad stuff are attributed to evil. How about this: We're put on this planet; regardless if it's good or bad, it's what we make of it? It's all human preception. Right?

What other explaination can anyone offer when confronted with childern trying to feed themselves in a city dump just outside of Phenom Penh? They deserve it? Why? They're being punish? For what?

A recent survey, in order to be ABOVE 50% of the WORLD (the 6billion people), one must own about +2,500US$ worth of goods. We westerners do own that...+1,000.00 computer & software. +150.00 music player. +2,000.00 car. +5,000 worth of books, art books, clothes, etc. ...and just because Bill Gates walks in the bar, it doesn't mean that OUR average income rose!!!

Back to Oekaki... Sorry, I didn't do a guy. I didn't do too much out of my comfortzone with this sketch. It was an excersize, life the first sketch, in order to break out of my frame of mind. Maybe 'to break into a differnt frame of mind'.

After I excersize some of my feelings in sketches, then I can concentrate on drawing a guy or two. Maybe some yaoi-ish type stuff.
odyssey 2007/11/20 - 23:3:45
*sigh* forgot to asign this sketch to the Doodle room. this was more like +2hr... *think* I'd visited Mainland China, the rual area is very similar to Appilachan USA, poverty stricken. I don't know what to say..... The child exhibits the classic sign of malnutrision...the body spends more energy growing the brain/head, while conserving energy in the growth of the rest of the body.

Good news, one of the craphead in charge during the Cambodian genocide had been charged.

Maybe I want to be driven (in my life)...maybe it's to take on some of the burden for having the luxary to develope my art skills while others struggles for a meal. Maybe I'm trying to draw for them.
lorelai 2007/11/21 - 13:33:38
There are bazillions of organizations that you can volunteer your time and energy towards helping those in need. :)

The Burn and Dodge tools saved this one from the clutches of dullness:-)

Inspired by the awesome atmosphere in the woods while I was jogging earlier.
purrdy 2007/11/13 - 19:55:33
Oh my... that is breathtaking. Gorgeous! Can't stop looking at it!
elolinon 2007/11/14 - 6:37:40
Wow, nice atmosphere... I feel I'm being sucked into the picture! It's like one of those ways that you can walk forever and never get to the end. Nice light on those leaves too! *Autumn dance*
sabii 2007/11/14 - 7:11:22
very nice indeed
golden 2007/11/14 - 8:43:25
Woah, amazing! I wish there were woods like this where I live.. maybe then I could get some motivation to go running more. Wonderful fade out-effects, they create a nice fairy tale-like feeling :)
sankyu 2007/11/14 - 9:41:50
WOODs, theyre so woody I can almost feel it!
Totaly inspired me.
umi-chan 2007/11/14 - 12:38:5

lorelai 2007/11/14 - 15:0:3

This is a really lame attempt of Nana... I bought a copy while in toronto. I love the manga art even if I don't own any nor seen the anime. ...more attempt at using the tools, such as LAYER.

I'm listening to Notorious MSG's Monster Mash while sketching this. MSG, more than PLanderZ, represents me in pop culture. Now I can truely understand what blacks, hispanics, gays (ALL minority) feel about under rep in pop cutlure. Now, I have a group of people who rep my self identity.

This sketch is base on a cosplayer I seen on Myspace. DRAW or DIE!
odyssey 2007/11/13 - 2:39:45
BELGIUM! I didn't mean to drop my sketch into this area! CRAP! *sigh* Zen: Oh, well. No sense in thinking about this one anymore.
elolinon 2007/11/14 - 6:40:40
Yay for Nana! :D And I wish you good luck with your one-picture-a-day-project. And: Yay! I found someone else who finds inspiration for swearwords in "The hitchhiker's guide to galaxy" xD Belgium.
odyssey 2007/11/14 - 20:15:28
Thanks. It's nice that a few people still get that joke. I found the original radio show recently. Again, thanks. I'm must keep up my 1sketch a day (or more) untill I my art is self sustaining.
jakusama 2007/11/17 - 16:2:48
Awww she's cute! I love the way you did her eyes.

jakusama 2007/11/17 - 16:3:33
I love the style! It's like a combination of so many different things. I really, really like it. Very cool. I love the eyes, too. All three of them.

"Do Not Listen to Rumours:Like this One:"([link]

Yes,give this video-news telecast a chance;it is not political one way or another,it is just the real news;this newsanchor on MSNBC is not a crank,or a nut;he has a good reputation.Listen to it carefully, pass it on."While You Were Sleeping"this is going on.I am not even a paranoid extremeist, guys.I'm an Independent Moderate, and I hate both political parties. I picked this up on Youtube, after I googled "AMERO" when someone told me to look it up.This guy is a real news reporter, not in either political pocket.Sorry to be alarmist,I wish this was a dream.I keep kicking myself, telling myself, "go back to sleep, and maybe it's not real."(The sound is low on this, turn it up,it's a copy of a real news broadcast on American t.v., cable news channel.)I know,it is futile to tell anyone this.I'm just going to give it to some foriegn newspapers online, and then I'm going to give up;I told some of my closest relatives.Give it a chance, this is not our imaginations.Wish it was.I think the style of the picture is matched well to the message.thanks, all, for your patience. :) dorothyblueeyes, always, whatever happens,(ouch, fucking tendonitus!!!) "Liberty,Equality,Fraternite!!"Oh,well,at least France has it, yuk yuk.
sabii 2007/11/13 - 9:7:18
i really love how this image is composed
jakusama 2007/11/17 - 16:5:31
Liberte, Equalite, Fraternite! (Avec les accents, bien sur. Mais, j'utilise un <keyboard> Americain. Bon.
I love how all your pictures seem to have a message in them. It's really cool, and I like this one, like all of yours.
blacklight 2007/12/11 - 22:5:3
heh. yup, "bye bye borders!" I heard a bit on the news radio last night about a new driver's license that people can get that has a special chip/biometric information on it and with this you can freely drive into canada without a passport.

It's a subtle way of saying, "yup, no more border XD")

Colour test :) Red and green look nice together, but I didn't feel like finishing it. Some pictures better stay as unfinished sketches. I love the watercolor tool :D *dance*
orangisque 2007/11/11 - 14:55:32
Hurray for colours and the watercolour(2) brush 8D. I love that brush as well.

I like the lips, I think it is well done. Wonder what she is looking at, her eyes are rather wide open.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/11/11 - 18:30:6
"doodle" indeed,this is a real painting; fantastic,such shades,blending,you are a real painter.yay.
lorelai 2007/11/12 - 0:59:13
i'm a total sucker for good color palettes, and this is no exception :)
jakusama 2007/11/17 - 16:6:7
Pity you didn't finish it. I love the colors. They do blend nicely.

lorelai 2007/11/8 - 16:36:21
Nonsense! your colors are beautiful! just try varying your brush width a bit more for more varying thicknesses :)
bananarana 2007/11/8 - 17:38:32
I don't know why you say you suck, when I'm looking at those flowers and wondering how in the world you made them look so soft and pretty...

Everything looks so soft and whimsical, which I think works nicely since we're looking at a fantasy-type picture with the pretty flowers and fairies.
evi19koko 2007/11/13 - 11:52:23
Wow, thank you for the nice comments *g* I'll try to use the tipps^^ I was pretty lazy when I did the pic hehe xD Thank you again^^ :)
jakusama 2007/11/17 - 16:7:15
I think this is cute. And yeah, if you just vary brush size, you can do some really cool stuff. I love the fluffy flowers!

No excuses; draw or die. Started the sketch last night, before bed. Finished after I got home. I'd smacked my hand against something early in the day...muscle/pain cream isn't working as well as I hoped. Draw or die!
lorelai 2007/11/8 - 16:38:30
read the rules or die! hahaha. no seriously though---1 pic per room per day ^^;
bananarana 2007/11/8 - 17:39:21
In spite of rule-breaking, I still like this picture for all its sketchiness.
odyssey 2007/11/16 - 0:27:33
There is a revised version here: [link]

I had to revisit it before I move on to sketching guys...mixing it up in order to be more versitile. The ANIMATION works!!!
jakusama 2007/11/17 - 16:8:6
Even though it's an illegal picture, I still really like it. I like the sketchiness of it. Rock on.

Account suspended until user demonstrates he/she has read the rules in their entirety. I apologize for the inconvenience.
senobdec 2007/11/4 - 22:53:56
presumably you can read comments. Beyond the whole reading the rules - try and just doodle for a while. Forcing a picture to be "beautiful" just doesn't work... at least, never has worked for me.

Good luck.
evi19koko 2007/11/13 - 11:55:11
I think the pic is awesome. I'm really impressed. The colours are very very pretty.

I don't understand why did you suspended her^^???
jakusama 2007/11/17 - 16:10:52
Assuming you can read comments; the colors are pretty. To make a picture pretty... it isn't about doing something specific or yelling at it to be beautiful. Art comes in all forms... as you can see around the board, everyone has a different style. one style is no more beautiful than the other. I think the best way to have a beautiful picture is to let it paint itself. That works for me, anyway. And I like this. You might want to consider working with layers some, too.

Whew! Now I can start my homework.

This is a wildland firefighter, based loosely on my boyfriend, who is coming hom from California today! The background is based on my memories of Hell's Canyon burning. =3
golden 2007/11/2 - 1:36:2
beautiful watercolors, I especially like the background.
embo 2007/11/2 - 5:39:18
this is an interesting composition and the colors are very fresh. :]
lorelai 2007/11/2 - 10:30:46
Love it! I love your wide range of colors. Very brave, I'm too chicken to do that :) I always am afraid things will end up "dirty."
jakusama 2007/11/3 - 22:7:34
I love this. Its so great. I love the style and the composition of the whole piece. Nice!
bananarana 2007/11/8 - 17:40:36
