So much for doing nothing but oekaki this summer. Well, the computer didn't like oekaki sites for quite awhile. But I think it's finally warming up to them. ...just need to get a mouse now. I don't understand touchpads.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/7/4 - 2:29:44
wow, wah! water style is fantastic! If this is your beginning,I can;t wait until you really get to future work.
"Touch-pads"? I have a Cirque SuperCat touch pad, which works very well; it saves me from arthritus with fingers, cause I use it to "mouse" for all my computer activity,,not just drawing. You do hold the button down, with yer thumb, but you just "click" right on the pad, to do your clicking, and it saves your hands and fingers from regular mouse stress. (I might try a pen pad sometime, for artwork, have not gotten around to it.) I usually use my left thumb, left hand, to hold the button down, and do all the drawing, painting, clicking, with my right hand; so,it often takes 2 hands. You use your fingers, to draw, instead of a pen.
Only problem I find with touchpads, is,they tend to get or be,oversensitive to touch. After you've been working on them for a long time, the pad does get that way. However,I do like the control. You can use all your different fingers, to draw,if you want to work on that. Now,I am having "repetitive motion problems," right now, with both elbow joints, very painfully, cause of the huge amt. of time I spend painting on the computer. I do not know that the touch-pad is any worse for this, than any other tool.I have to find an erogonomic expert, where I live, some kind of rehab nurse,to help me figure out how to erogonomically, keep drawing, and not ruin my elbow joints.OWW!This could hit any of us,with hours of drawing, & painting,on our artwork, here. So,I have to figure out,how to do it more safely.I am just turning 60 years old,so it's more likely to hit me,than some of you younger people. However,I still recommend trying a touch pad,and seeing how you like it. Amazon.com has them, new,for as cheaply as seven bucks. (Mine was about 44 dollars, new.)Sorry about the long review, just thought you would like to know about touchpads.

You are the king of lighting effects;wonderful.Reminiscent of complicated lighting in movies,of the characters.Something I would love to do(did you need a model?hard to do this without some kind of model,or photo.)but not really that easy.Kudos.
jakusama 2007/7/7 - 11:8:33
Haha very cool. I like the lighting. Very nifty
golden 2007/7/8 - 9:55:29

"Remote Viewing While Asleep". This is the concept some people believe, where a person is asleep, and their mind can see far away,in their dreams, and see real things that are happening.I read about the name,it's called "remote viewing."Many people do not believe in it.This is not at all what I wanted to convey,so I should do it again sometime.
maemay 2007/6/28 - 19:29:0
i like your use of texture on her dress. I do believe in remote viewing especially when your in a deep sleep.
eraserhead 2007/7/2 - 13:8:44
I believe it is possible, and a good pic as well.:)

embo 2007/6/25 - 3:38:23
this is so simple but absolutely awesome. damn you know how to hit my weakspot. your color gradient is blended flawlessly. team up with mika to do some galaxy themes,....hehehehe.
eraserhead 2007/6/25 - 9:40:13
Soothing, the gradient pulls you in until you are there floating with them.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/6/26 - 20:23:19
Oh,wonderful(envy)cause I love this.My gradience is not good. Sigh, this is so serene.Yes,I have wanted to do celestial bodies, like the ones on Hubble, very much. Just was not sure how to copy them.

I don't know if I'm trying to rush myself or what I'm doing. But it pisses me off and i don't know how to stop. i'm trying too hard
sankyu 2007/6/25 - 1:58:32
You sound stressed maybe, Im no doc.. if it helps, you'll be okay.
eraserhead 2007/6/25 - 9:53:9
I often start with no planning and do a few cloud shapes, build them up until you see pictures starting to form in them, enhance what you see, it's very relaxing (and no I am not on medication/drugs)
Wow I'm so helpful it beggers belief...............NOT!
dorothyblueeyes 2007/6/26 - 20:38:14
Eraserhead is right, though. We often all try too hard, and get tensed up,and using an excercise like his, or something of yur own, would get you loosened up.
Also, you do not have to prove to anyone, or yourself, that you are some kind of genius,or anything. Not at all.
Society often teaches us that we have to "strive to a goal, and win,"and that is not really realistic either of life or of art. Many people in this culture become perfectionists, and very hard on themselves.
it's not until you get a lot older, until you realize that is not what's important, "winning." Why?Cause most of us will NOT become perfect artists,or even "win" at all. Not because we are not good, but because evryone is good, and the competition is unreal.
Look at this Oekaki site;so many good artists, and yet, how many of them ever got rich or famous? ONE person in 6 billion, is able to make a living off a creative career. ONE.
One thing I have learned,in my old age,is"don't take it seriously, either being perfect in art, or being perfect in life. Cause it is not reality. That is fantasy." Give yourself a break, and relax. Once you learn to relax more, and let it go, it will just work itself out. Even art does that. :)
jakusama 2007/6/27 - 7:39:59
bleau, trust me. sooner or later, you'll whip out one of your ungodly good pieces of utter masterpiece and put us humble artists back in our place. dont stress yourself out over it too much. :p
