Welcome to RyTACo, I just watched the anim and I like how you got to the finished piece eventually....hehehe cool....:)
lorelai 2005/12/30 - 12:46:9
Welcome, and wha ta super lovely oekaki!! I like how the use of the tools is subtle (no harsh patterns, dodges, etc.)
heavenlystrike 2005/12/30 - 13:44:12
this is really, really lovely indeed. I am in love with the body, it is so nice, and the use patterns gives such a nice edge :D <3 I want to see more of you!!!
happywaterbottle 2005/12/30 - 14:53:32
very nice use of the textures! I love how the heart looks like it's popping out of the picture!
awesome job, can't wait to see more of you ;)
mitsu 2005/12/30 - 15:27:7
Intriguing, especially your use of depth. Loving the contrast between the flat figure and pop-up-book-esque heart. :3
p_b 2005/12/31 - 4:41:18
that's really cool
i like the swirly lines in the corners and how it looks more like a collage than a flat drawing. that's quite spiffy :)
sandra 2006/1/3 - 16:9:20
Cool effects with the textures. Textures = yummy. Velcome to TACO!

Bold color and lighting <3
Never can break the oekaki habit, but it's a fine addiction.
Do kinda wish this was in Drawing, but I finished the last one early this morning. ;p Ohwell.
mika-kun 2005/12/29 - 0:18:33
Did you say 'drawing'?
I don't think they'll be any complaints if this found itself in 'polished'......
Well there you go....:)
I totally love your latest spat of awesome colours, keep 'em coming!!!!!
eevee 2005/12/29 - 7:57:34
The glasses are really cool :3
and I looooove the arching of her eyebrows.
monique 2005/12/29 - 11:43:49
Yeah the colors, they're awesome! like for the cover of some mystery series.
lorelai 2005/12/30 - 12:46:33
sandra 2006/1/3 - 16:12:49
Oh wow, this reminds me of Tolouse-Lautrec. Can't stop staring at those luminous pink eyes and gorgeously funky glasses... And then the little bit o' hair framing her face is just perfecto.
ryoanna 2006/4/2 - 16:18:58
wow this is awesome!! great job!:aww:

I want to be a pirate when I grow up. Always have. All I need is a boat, and eyepatch, and scurvy, and then I'm set.
Hope this is alright for Polished.
mika-kun 2005/12/30 - 11:55:57
But surely an eyepatch would cover up those pretty eyes......I'd stick to a parrot if I were you...
The only crit I'm going to make is that the arm does seem to blend into the face rather a lot, I was a bit confused until I watched the anim, it could have done with a bit more definition between the two to make them separate parts......however the eye and hair are pretty impressive as is the scurvy dog above them.......yarrr Jim-lad!

Gosh, Sora. Don't give him such a hard time. It's his first time flying, after all.
I've been on a fix for a while.
C and C muy muy welcome-o. :3
black_crochan 2005/12/27 - 13:38:29
I have been on the same fix myself for about a month now. :DD I really like it. ;3
mika-kun 2005/12/27 - 19:14:48
That's a pretty nifty pose....I guess by the dude in the b/g that it's a Dragonball Z inspired piece........
'Yammyhammyhammyharrrrrrrrrrr'....or words to that effect....:)
rae 2005/12/27 - 20:44:2
it's not DBZ~ it's Kingdom Hearts! I never really got into that game. Still have to finish it. Cute lil Sora anyhow.

Let there be peace.
This is my christmas illustration this year. I don't know if it was worth it going with oekaki instead of Pencil and paper, but consider it a gift to anyone who wants it.
Also, check the animation. 4 hours of mis-steps and doodling. It should be amusing.
mika-kun 2005/12/27 - 19:19:5
Are they people down there?....man that's one big tree!!!
Nice sentiment, and very nice winter looking sky, happy holidays....

mika-kun 2005/12/21 - 17:7:58
Not sure if I'm going to rescue this one yet......
blumeaniandglove 2005/12/21 - 17:15:49
I vote rescue. Come on Mika, never leave a man behind.
black_crochan 2005/12/21 - 19:52:54
Please rescue it. ;___; Looking marvelous just as it is now, I can't wait to see it finished. :D
Wonderful textures!!!!! *bows*
val4s 2005/12/22 - 1:20:45
This is so awsome!!
Please finish it!
lorelai 2005/12/22 - 12:49:30
Mika is not allowed to abandon anything >:3
mika-kun 2005/12/22 - 15:57:46
Found her on the web some time ago and was meaning to draw her for ages.....
p_b 2005/12/22 - 18:43:44
That's amazing O___O Her eyes have so much character all of her does really but those eyes..
blumeaniandglove 2005/12/22 - 20:21:52
black_crochan 2005/12/22 - 21:21:37
*gasps in amazement* :OOOO *haves a heart attack* X-x;
monique 2005/12/23 - 13:3:17
that's so awesome! she looks Panamanian!
lavalizard 2005/12/23 - 19:31:19
That's really good:-). Nice detail work on the wrinkles and cloth patterns. Nice to see an older person in an oekaki once in a while:)
mitsu 2005/12/25 - 20:2:31
Helloooo, eyes! Right cheek ftw. :>

blumeaniandglove 2005/12/21 - 16:14:32
hopefully this is polished worthy. Took me a long time.
Anyway, this is Calisto (the tall one. really tall) and Julia (the mastermind). Cali handles the weapons, and Julia just sets up the deals. They're on their way to a business transaction right now, actually :3
comments and crits please please please.
lorelai 2005/12/22 - 12:47:12
oh SUPER!!! Great job Grandpa! XD
I'd say the only thing that bothers me is the use of some of the outlined clothing folds. I think some observation as to how clothing folds work would be very helpful - and even leaving them ot in this picture wouldn't be too bad, since it is kind of flat all around stylistically. :) Also, I'd color more in chunks and areas, rather than splotches - squint at people when you're walking around, you'll notice the general variations in color happen in certain areas, not just randomly. :)
mika-kun 2005/12/22 - 16:42:31
I really dig that dudes hair, it looks like fire.....cool!
blumeaniandglove 2005/12/22 - 20:21:37
they're both girls. (laughlaugh)
lorelai 2005/12/23 - 12:55:32
AHAHAHAH! Mika missed the chest :3
Although he does bring up a good point, compared to our lovely officetype chick, the girl on the right looks much more like a boy. :)
blumeaniandglove 2005/12/23 - 13:10:38
that's part of the fun :D

omgz liek first gallery post @_@
ok yeah, so it didn't take me 16 hours...but it still took a LONG time. depending on ur computer's contrast levels, the colors might be a lil warped. Reff: [link]
blumeaniandglove 2005/12/20 - 2:38:50
amazing. The face is beautiful, and the hair looks so soft. I clap clap clap.
lorelai 2005/12/20 - 13:12:45
HOooo boy!!! Darn nice job!! <3
hikage_onna 2005/12/20 - 16:16:50

phil 2005/12/21 - 14:53:15

mitsu 2005/12/28 - 0:26:51

ironicmonkeyy 2006/1/7 - 23:6:1
Wow. WOW. I was here like 2 years ago, and I totally remember you.. and your drawings have gotten like 2309567093275 times better.
THIS IS AMAZING. <3 I love the hair.
And the shirt.
eeyoresonlyfrnd 2006/4/16 - 3:10:18

donteatyellowsnow 2006/5/30 - 19:47:5
i wouldn't have been surprised if that had taken you 16 hours, goodness
*watches animation over and over*
gleeful1 2006/6/26 - 23:4:52
a b&w picture - my favorite! it may have been super easy for u, but i like the tinges of light on his hair and shoulders the very best! then next is the depth of his elbows XD
katie09 2006/12/22 - 18:47:57
So your picture is amazing!! THis guy is pretty darn good lookin'!!

Ya know, I've had gallery access since it was created, I just never stuck around on a pic long enough to feel worthy of posting here--this still isn't my best, but then again, it is one of the best I've done using all-solids ('cept the bg, of course)
wishing all of you kids a very merry Christmas. Keep in mind the One who gave us the best gift He could give--celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ! :D
and those of you who disagree with me, happy holidays anywho's ^_^
purrdy 2005/12/20 - 15:4:17
So many pretty colors. Really bright and eye catching. I want a teddy bear! O.o Great job! Bow down to the master of the solids.
hikage_onna 2005/12/20 - 16:17:42
Love the brightness, especially the tree in the background!
mika-kun 2005/12/22 - 16:50:2
Woot! I love them feet!
donteatyellowsnow 2006/5/30 - 19:49:58
right u are!!!! i hate how ppl focus on gifts instead of the real reason 4 the season
gleeful1 2006/6/26 - 23:13:6
i am currently taking notes on how u color with those solids O_O that transparent wrapping in the box is so baffling - after all this time, i'm still pretty bad with the tools of shii painter, so i like cling to watercolors. ^^''''' that teddy bear is kawaiiii

First 'kaki in over 2 years. o.O wow. Really not accurate, I know. She's 'sposed to be on a dock in the late afternoon. That brown thing in the bachground is a boat, by the way. =)
mika-kun 2005/12/18 - 8:30:52
I like how the colouring adds a lot of texture, it looks almost embroidered.....nice!
lorelai 2005/12/20 - 13:13:13
I love your style, and her outfit! :)
