Just a little picture of Paula from Earthbound. :3
happywaterbottle 2008/5/30 - 14:56:44
I love your technique! it looks like a real watercolor piece on paper... so beautiful!
I never finished earthbound, lost my game before I could finish it -___-
lorelai 2008/6/9 - 1:31:34
Wow this is so beautiful. I love how watery the paint looks.
embo 2008/6/19 - 18:31:3
oh this is lovely! such pretty colors and simultaneous vibrancy/softness. <4
gleeful1 2008/7/6 - 11:15:11

Day and night! C.c please!! O.o P.S im a mouse user!!! D.S
sankyu 2008/5/28 - 5:30:27
I only ever used to use a mouse and I know what a b*tch that can be, you did great on the eyes for that. I was thinking it could use more black in the background on the left side. otherwise, the shadows in the face are lovely.
lorelai 2008/6/9 - 1:32:36
WOOT props to mouse users!

I wonder who she's thinking about... <3
artanis 2008/5/21 - 7:41:51
michiru!!!! she's my favorite :3 and you made her so pretty, i love her shiny hair and soft pink lips, and the way that you colored her skirt. your background is very cute too! hehe i have a suspicion, who she's thinking of...
golden 2008/5/21 - 8:40:25
Yay, Neptune :D Her hair is wonderfully shiny. And you even drew that little Neptune sign on her forehead.
Now I'm really tempted to draw Michiru and Haruka together.
lorelai 2008/6/9 - 1:31:57
Michiru and Haruka were my favorite scouts <3

you interpret <3
golden 2008/5/19 - 14:28:59
This is gorgeous. It's so sharp and smooth at the same time. The light in the middle really catches your eye. This coloring really reminds me of certain Christmas cards, for some reason.
gleeful1 2008/5/19 - 19:22:52
you are 19? then i think you would be in your first yr of college, so... i guess you did not intend for this picture to symbolize the END of ap exams?!!
to me, the character in the picture is saying, "BURN BABY BURN" to all the exam packets! the firelight is delightful XDDD
kelli 2008/5/19 - 20:53:38
oh wow! I love it.... it's so wild =)
jakusama 2008/5/19 - 23:29:26
Wow. this is quite amazing. Very beautiful, very feral, in a way. I love the emotion in this, and I really like the expression. Very beautiful, again. The lighting is just exquisite.
snoopywar 2008/5/20 - 10:41:56
This is precious.
He looks so happy that it makes me happy. :B
happywaterbottle 2008/5/30 - 15:0:55
hahaha I love the end of exams interpretation :P
that's a really beautiful drawing though... I feel so happy just looking at it ^^
and I just love the detail in the kid's hair.
you're amazing artanis, keep drawiiing <3
lorelai 2008/6/9 - 1:32:21
made of awesome. the composition, the lighting, all of it.
embo 2008/6/19 - 18:32:30

thank you everyone!!! <3 you are so sweet
haha and gleeful i love your interpretation!! i finished ap exams a couple years ago and my friends and i definitely had a bonfire and burned our textbooks! it was totally that feeling of freedom and utter joy i was going for in the picture too ^_^
ps hai embo <3 <3 zoroastrianism is neat!!
russianruler 2008/9/5 - 17:41:26

This has been sitting unfinished forever. Timer lies. >.>
jakusama 2008/5/18 - 15:0:20
Awww, I love this! The soft linework and the gentle shading, and I want some ears like that. It's adorable. I can't get over the cuteness of her expression and the overall softness of the piece.
kelli 2008/5/18 - 18:18:40
I agree, she's very cute =) And I must say the placement of the ams makes for a good composition. They're like two parenthesis around your subject. in addition, the two hands pointing act like little arrows and draw the eye to the head. To me the facial expression is saying "it's all about me". Great job =)
artanis 2008/5/18 - 22:10:58
i love the hairs :3
lavalizard 2008/5/30 - 10:48:7
I like the colors, and her expression.

Seeing is over rated.
gleeful1 2008/5/12 - 19:18:25
wow the moment that i read your comment, i thought to myself that your statement is ironic. i use my eyes to see your picture and to perceive the message that you are trying to convey. interesting paradox!
anyways, i love her prominent nose and how you made her straps match her hair =)
jakusama 2008/5/12 - 19:26:5
Ah ha! Ironic and paradox aside, I love the hair. I totally want to do that to my hair. Shading is fabulous, and I love the color balance between the greys and the blues. Lovely!
kelli 2008/5/12 - 19:45:44
does my monitor deceive me (it sometimes does) or do I detect some subtle pink/violet in the bg? very yummy. And indeed, that is some kick-ass hair... I wonder how she picked that color out =P
p.s. I love the lip/chin area
sankyu 2008/5/14 - 16:31:28
That's like, really cute. I've a friend with the same hairstyle (and colour) though the fringe is like a tiny bit shorter, she has to look up to see under it.
artanis 2008/5/18 - 22:17:22
love the lips, and very nifty shade of hair. someday if i get up the courage, i'd like to get my tips done that color... :o

"...because the sky is blue, it makes me cry..."
That's from a Beatles song I think...
a referenced was used for the guy (I can't find a link for it though). Kudos to whoever knows who he is. Critique is welcome. Thanks for looking...
oh yeah, does anyone know what's happened to my Mudkip? It's totally gone from the spot I put him in...
jakusama 2008/5/11 - 20:43:38
Damn. I want to be able to kick out pretty pictures like that. Absolutely lovely; I like the blue sky on the black and white dude. Rather, the black and white dude on the blue sky. Either way, the shading is exquisite and it's all quite lovely.
kokiriesper 2008/5/11 - 20:57:37
Oh damn it..he looks out of place...so out of place...pooey. This picture fails...try again!!
snoopywar 2008/5/12 - 7:55:9
I like the way you did his clothes. :)
larstar 2008/5/12 - 12:1:26
Your mudkip seems to have been moved to the theme room if you scrool down a little.
kelli 2008/5/12 - 19:39:27
well, I rather like the composition. I think too many people (myself included) don't vary the placement of their subject, and instead simply put it right in the center. Not that that's always a bad thing, it's just nice to see some variation. That aside, I really dig how you rendered the figure. Some of the subtle details sort of make me think of mitsu's oekakis... though you do it in your own way. The contrast of the jacket and hair to the rest of the image is especially effective. one little nitpicky thing since you did ask for critiques....I would maybe try to play up the highlights on the face, and play down the brightness of the clouds. I think they sort of take attention away from the figure. =)
golden 2008/5/13 - 9:33:1
Ahh. I love the contrast between the grey person and the lavender of the sky. Great composition as well.
And that the song you mentioned is absolutely wonderful.
diezombiedie 2008/5/13 - 14:19:17
I think it's quite beautiful, I love how it fades to black and white. And the composition in general is quite nice. :D
[And it's hyde, correct?]
kokiriesper 2008/5/13 - 18:32:56
Thanks everyone for the nice comments...about the hightlights in the face...haha I don't know where else I would put them... and he IS Hyde!! yay hurray for diezombiedie.
artanis 2008/5/18 - 22:15:20
gorgeous!! i actually really like that he seems a little out of place... like he's looking at his dreams, or something. it's wonderful how he's monochrome against the sky, and the shading on his face is so delicate and beautiful.

Hello! It's been a while, but look! I'm alive! Her name is Tara. She's an angel trapped in a human body, basically. I know there are some issues, her arm, and her lips I'm not particularly pleased with, but I'm not sure how to fix them. Concrit is welcome on those and anything else you see.
kelli 2008/5/12 - 19:23:19
oh wow, I love how you did the hair.... so shiny ^^
hmm as far as the arm goes, I think it just starts out a tad too high.... if she were sort of shrugging, that would be fine, except then I don't think we'd see as much of her neck.... I think >_<
but overall, I think she looks really cute... everyone seems to be doing really summer-y oekakis...
And glad to see you're alive =)
artanis 2008/5/18 - 22:22:51
hi jakusama! ^^ this is lovely, very warm and summery... her honey-blonde hair is so nice and flowy, and just looks so soft!! it seems like her lips might just be a tad on the small size - i love the juicy pink you've used for them, and would love to see it better! maybe drawing them out a bit on either edge might help?
lorelai 2008/6/9 - 1:33:18
So good to see you Jaku! love the work!

jakusama 2008/5/11 - 19:53:1
Wow, those are really... wow. The mixture with the colors and the textures are really neat. It's... it's just really cool.
snoopywar 2008/5/12 - 7:54:17
He has a very charming face.
mrgrt 2008/5/12 - 12:43:53

his beard is brown blonde tho:
i just needed a beard that didnt conflict with
kelli 2008/5/12 - 19:48:44

artanis 2008/5/18 - 22:24:48

Looks like she's eating an orange segment :P
I love the drawing anyway, is this someone you know?
kelli 2008/5/9 - 19:59:42
sankyu already commented it, but those eyes are gorgeous and so expressive =) And I love how you made her arm sort of disappear into the fabric
mika 2008/5/9 - 22:31:51
Awesome eyes, loving the hands too :)
snoopywar 2008/5/10 - 8:18:12
She's adorable. O:
I wonder what she's putting in her mouth, I hope its food. Hahaha.
jakusama 2008/5/11 - 19:51:4
I love the eyes, and I've been doing that all week. Uhg. Three more exams to go for me; I feel ya! Lovely line work. Its so sketchy but its really... really neat.
artanis 2008/5/18 - 22:26:32

i love it here

snoopywar 2008/5/10 - 8:17:17

This is lovely.
jakusama 2008/5/11 - 19:50:6

I'm feeling kind of 'eh' today. So.
Felt like I needed to doodle it out.
nakisa 2008/5/8 - 6:46:42
Doodling's always a great way to get rid that "eh" feeling :)
Like the composition and how you've used a little colour to emphasise probably the key parts - helps add a lot of emotion to it ^^
Hope you're feeling better!
kelli 2008/5/8 - 20:12:19
I agree with nakisa. Engaging in artwork to cope, or express an emotion is a great practice. And I really feel like this image tells a story. Hope it made you feel better =)
moonling 2008/5/9 - 17:15:22
I'm loving that hand x0 great form. Excellent everything~

kelli 2008/5/6 - 11:44:16
beautiful oekaki.... I like that you used deep browns rather than black, and you did a great job giving the face a real sense of depth/3-d quality. one little thing that bothers me though... the right eye looks backwards to me; the tear duct looks like it's on the wrong side...
but it's really a minor thing compared to the overall loveliness on the piece =D *thumbs up*
jakusama 2008/5/6 - 21:41:44
Wish I could kick this out and go "doodle." This is awesome. I love eyes, and these are amazingly killer eyes. Love the shirt.
snoopywar 2008/5/7 - 13:44:7
This is awesome. Hahaha.
nakisa 2008/5/8 - 6:43:33
Can I get that shirt? :P
Beautiful job on the shading, love the colour you chose for his eyes - really makes them stand out :)
elolinon 2008/5/8 - 12:55:16
Wow, awesome shading! I love his hair, it looks all fluffy ^^
gleeful1 2008/5/9 - 16:43:14

i watched 37 eposodes of sailor moon in one week, and decided that sailormoon just doesn't need a mouth ... i empathize with her lol
kelli 2008/5/4 - 11:32:39
I love the way you rendered her.... it's sort of refreshing to see more of a painterly technique rather than cell shading when it comes to Sailor Moon fan art =)
frosty_glow 2008/5/4 - 23:27:59
thanks, thats a nice comment. :)
artanis 2008/5/5 - 20:26:56
i like this a lot too, very painty and very cute :]
jakusama 2008/5/6 - 21:42:56
Squeal! I watched Sailor Moon all last weekend while doing my paper! Love, love, love Sailor Moon, and I, too, love the way you did the shading. Do more?
frosty_glow 2008/5/7 - 1:41:13
i'd love to do more! i'm pretty self conscience about what i create, I sort of censor myself from posting so much fan work, do you think i should do the other sailrs?
snoopywar 2008/5/7 - 13:43:22
I like that oozy green city in the back. It suits her without a mouth. xD
nakisa 2008/5/8 - 6:41:37
Like everyone else has mentioned, the colouring on this is great - always nice to see such a painted feel to an oekaki :)
In regards to doing more work - do whatever you want to do, even if it is fan art. If you enjoy it, I don't see why you shouldn't :D
golden 2008/5/9 - 13:39:52
OMG. If you do the other sailors as well, I will love you forever. Seriously.
(Also, that round brooch-thingie she has looks like a smiley and amuses me more than it should.)
gleeful1 2008/5/9 - 16:47:40
i love the way u "painted" this!
don't stop yourself what drawing what u want to draw! i'm sure none of us at taco will get tired of your artwork as long as u put your personality into it =)
moonling 2008/5/9 - 17:17:53
Great colouration~! And....something sort of elegant about a mouth-less.....Usagi-chan? Raaa, WHAT WAS HER NAME IN THE ENGLISH ONE..I don't know 8DD
artanis 2008/5/9 - 21:13:41
personally i would love if you did more :3
i didn't notice or mention this before, but i love the subtlety of the background and the depth of her hair too... basically the whole picture is just fantastic <3
lorelai 2008/6/9 - 1:34:32
Heehee well the english version of sailor moon certainly doesn't need a mouth. I hate hate hate it every time she opens it :)
frosty_glow 2008/6/15 - 23:3:6

oop, just read this was under the time limit. I'll add stuff later~
lorelai 2008/5/2 - 11:57:10
it certainly doesnt' LOOK like it's under any required time limit @_@ ::licks it::
frosty_glow 2008/5/4 - 23:32:25
ya I think the time limit just suggests the sort of detail and patience that should be put into a drawing, but the actual time i guess.
I think it looks great, I live how the outline in the bun(s), and earrings are lightened. I think the eyes are most enticing of all. good job
artanis 2008/5/5 - 20:28:58
i love the combination of bronze and indigo in this... pretty shiny
snoopywar 2008/5/7 - 13:42:27

Welcome to the board ^^
