I went to comic world as saw the prettiest living dead doll >.< i love them...sadly i couldnt buy it cause not enough money, but i got inspired and decided to make my own living dead doll ... i'm not sure what to name her though, maybe something that starts with 'A'. well every one of my fingers hurt but im very happy with results, ^_^
sakura 2006/8/4 - 14:26:34

kougra_girl 2006/8/5 - 12:38:34
VERY neat :D love the eyeballs and the coloring. the little blue bow on her dress seems out of place coloring wise compared to everything else though.

...i really like the hair! <3 :D
sankyu 2006/8/5 - 16:51:4
EW... and wow : X teach me how to shade hair like that! This is scary-wonderful in my dictionary

I hope i'm allowed to put this here! I'm REALLY proud of it and I want it to go in polished. If not not, you can move the other ones if possible 'cause I like this one better. :)

she sort of reminds me of Namine! The sun is very bad but I love the clouds. I like the and the horse's shading (almost identical!). I'd appreaciate C&C very much!!!
sankyu 2006/7/30 - 5:2:33
Ahh, if you want a little help with the sun, remember that it glows, you could have a ring around it that overlaps the wing and the girls headpiece for example [link] The rest of the piece is lovely... 'thou art skilled' Ahah... *bad joke*
sankyu 2006/7/30 - 5:4:48
Ooops i meant [link]

Hey, it's the not-so-long-awaited return of yours truly. Hi, everybody!
I kinda feel iffy about posting in here after my shamefully long absence, but I am strangely pleased with this, simple portrait though it is. Used m'self for reference--not that I see much resemblence. ;3
ikakeo 2006/7/17 - 17:4:6
Yayayayay! Mutsi We've missed you so much! And like always your artwork is out of this world! That lace with the pearl beads is so detailed, and the background is cool & swirley!! welcome back

Wow...that's the longest I've ever spent on an oekaki....*dies* So...its actually a rather boring picture, but I felt like following through because its the only one that started going halfway decent. I swear I start about 3 oekakis a month and I usually hate them so much in the beginning, I quit. XD

So, yay, I finished a picture! Critique would be nice...(But I do know her ear is too big. XD)

lavalizard 2006/7/12 - 19:47:20
Great clean lineart, and the shading looks extra good, especially on her hair. I like how you drew her face too.
The ear doesn't look too big to me... big ears are cool:-)
ikakeo 2006/7/12 - 20:17:49
You know as much as I search and search there is nothing bad I can say about this pic. :) Its really wonderful shadrad superb shading and beautifully clean lineart :)
blumeaniandglove 2006/7/12 - 22:7:29
i say, never!
i really like the face. She's very pretty.
lorelai 2006/7/18 - 15:54:31
Shad, you have TOTALLY outdone yourself...ever....way to go. :) :) totally bookmarking this for Hall of Fame when it comes up.

POlished beacuse this was the first oekaki I worked sooooooo long on! I'm serious! I know this is way off. But lorelai told me to draw everything I saw. So I drew this book's cover page Alanna: the first Adventure by Tamora Pierce. (The 2005 version of course) here's the link:

I know...WAY off! but lorelai told me to. I saw her work and I was awed, thus I give this to lorelai aswell! (I guess that's the best horse I've ever drew my whole life!)
someartbum 2006/7/11 - 18:1:10
I don't think it's too bad. Especially considering the difference in media and technique being used.

You managed to get a good feel for your representation--and that's part of what art is about, our own representation. Whether you're depicting something from life or imagination. Sometimes it's more important to get the feeling and the mood than it is to get things 100% accurate.

There's something about her hair that I just love, and her eyes are gorgeous as well :)
ikakeo 2006/7/11 - 19:12:20
Wow keyblademaster, your getting really good really fast I'm so proud of you, I have no where near your dedication! The pic is wonderful, its not perfect, yeah but it's still crazily amazing, your shading is getting better and your paying more attention to detail, keep practicing and soon you'll be rollin with the hall'a'famers :)
keyblademaster 2006/7/11 - 20:4:37
whoah triple post! Oh well thanks you guys! Your like my family! Always giving me suggestions and comments. (sigh) I love oekaki boards!
blumeaniandglove 2006/7/11 - 21:27:29
you're really improving :D
i've gotta say though, even though i'm not a horse type, i like that horse. A lot.
keep it up man!
lorelai 2006/7/12 - 10:1:11
oh my god i'm so honored!!!
And GREAT JOB. If you keep it up, your improvement's sure to be phenomenal. Be careful though! Don't just draw other people's illustrations! You want to develop your own style, not just work off someone else's. When I said draw everything you see, I also included real life/still life. One of my favorite pasttimes in college was to sit on a park bench and draw the people walking by. :)
spoonalshmee 2006/7/12 - 20:47:23
DEFINITELY AWESOME. good job! wow...
and i really agree with lorelai, it's really important to draw from life! when you draw from life, your style emerges naturally because you are reacting to something that you can hear and smell {and possibly touch and taste}, as well as just see. you know what i mean? it's hard at first, but don't give up! you've got talent to boot :)
keyblademaster 2006/7/13 - 7:7:53
owe and thank you soooooo much!!!

ikakeo 2006/7/10 - 8:29:11
Wow this is really good! I really like how thier hands are holding, I could never draw anything like that!! And I really like her lips for some reason :)
happywaterbottle 2006/7/10 - 9:0:18
deleted ikakeo's double-post ;)
truly blue, you amaze me. you improve at an exponential rate seriously o_o this is awesome and like, near perfect!
lorelai 2006/7/10 - 10:28:25
great work, her blank eyes are really creepy :)
phil 2006/7/10 - 13:17:52
u did this blue! O_O omg wow u improved so much so fast im scared now gotta love the blank eyes to
someartbum 2006/7/11 - 18:9:1
The composition on this really intrigues me. There's just so many possibilities and so many different ways it could be read!

I think my absolute favorite thing about this is that it's monochromatic. Because they have the same color scheme the doll-maker and his doll become almost reflections of each other . . . .

Wow, I could go into hypothetical meanings for awhile off of this. But I think I'll just conclude with: good job! You've really made an interesting and introspective piece to look at :3

P.S.: I, too, really love the lips on the doll. They're so full and lucious.
sabii 2006/8/6 - 10:56:27
Thought of The Dresden Dolls, even before I saw the title c: Spooky, I do like it very much.
