Hey look! It's Hiko! And she looks BITCHIN'! ^_^

If I can keep myself from wanting to redraw everything from scratch days after finishing the first page... I MIGHT just get her story off the ground someday :P

It's the inner critic that gets me every time. Cross your fingers foolks, maybe in the next few months the comic will live.
ryoanna 2007/2/22 - 15:30:18
wow... *-* LOVE the colors! Nice work :)
blacklight 2007/2/22 - 15:40:23
awesome! I like how you showed the swirling light!
kaira 2007/2/24 - 15:25:32
Colors! Glow sitcks! I love the attitude of this picture.

Hope your comic goes well!
lorelai 2007/2/24 - 17:22:21
Rock on!! best rendition of raving lights I've ever seen in an oekaki :)
lorelai 2007/2/24 - 17:27:23
*sheepish* also, I moved it to the Gallery. You're such a trooper about long, detailed oekakis that you'd flood the polished room if you didn't disappear so often >:)
happywaterbottle 2007/2/25 - 12:1:35
Yay i'm glad you're back :D It's good to know that some veterans didn't forget about us XD
I still don't understand how you can do such smooth lines ;_;
*agrees with Lore*
senobdec 2007/2/27 - 19:36:32
Holy... pretty darn amazing. Dig the softer glow around the lightsticks.
Very nice solids work too.

Its pretty... I love lights in trees.. She looks angsty
Nice name :P
kougra_girl 2007/3/6 - 14:38:13
you have a good start with the shading :) the person looks...a bit angry though o.o;
bananarana 2007/3/14 - 12:34:48
There's so much texture hidden in this piece; you don't really see it unelss you're really looking. I love how you used green to shade in the tree.

weeeeeell its my birthday and im pretty much alone so voila a pretty picture :) (yay 16)
i tried to use a bigger range of colour than i usually use, it took longer than i thought so im gonna leave it like this ^_^
blacklight 2007/2/7 - 18:44:41
very pretty picture! I'm 16 too, happy birthday!
bandersnatchsm 2007/2/7 - 22:19:5
Wow!! The contrast in this picture! And the use of contrasts is very nice, add in a pinch of balance (my favorite :P) and you've got yourself a fiiiine picture.
I see that you used many different colors for the skin, it really brings you into the picture. You can see the impact of the moon. Lots more to say, but I'll leave it at that... Very nice picture!
dorothyblueeyes 2007/2/7 - 23:51:29
Happy Birthday, and your're Sweet Sixteen!!! Good Luck with Becoming a Lady and a woman. Very beautiful picture. It's ok, you're not alone here. :)
elolinon 2007/2/8 - 7:41:35
Congratulations! :D
I totally love her hair and the values in it. Like someone said before, the contrast is very good, and so is the balance between warm and cool colours. She looks like a queen of winter! :)
lorelai 2007/2/8 - 16:30:54
Happy Birfday~~~!!! I love the second-from-the-right blue marble in her headband. They're all good but that one's just..perfect.

Also, shinies!!!
ryoanna 2007/2/8 - 18:43:53
Nice! Love all the different tones in this... awesome shading too! Wonderful! (-:

I had a dream where a bunch of these 100+ feet tall things were striding around the San Fernando Valley taking people to heaven... It's a fairly long dream, so I won't go into detail, but I tried to recreate what they looked like.
Sorry it's so dark, they were really dark and hard to see (it was night and they were almost black) except for the super contrasting red and light blue outlines... They were very cartoony looking, yet ominous.
blacklight 2007/2/7 - 18:46:48
cool dream. Like how you made the perspective create how tall they looked.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/2/7 - 23:52:32
oooh, wierd, I like it. (Have you ever done commercial logos? You already know how to do it.)
golden 2007/2/8 - 10:3:47
Wow, really nice lines and colors. Gotta love how you made those clean perfect lines. Although the head makes me think of a certain, very unpleasant organisation..
bandersnatchsm 2007/2/8 - 13:0:13
The heads were really similar to the Easter Island heads, but they were so high up, it was hard to see them.

Phew! I'm done!
Finaly done!
bandersnatchsm 2007/2/4 - 23:12:29
Makes you wonder what she's looking at.
cinder303 2007/2/5 - 16:23:55
She goes really well with the background. Excellent colouring!
dorothyblueeyes 2007/2/7 - 23:56:27
Yes, this was a difficult picture to do. Very good.
ryoanna 2007/2/8 - 18:56:35
Nice! Love the pattern on her clothes!...Awesome work :)
jakusama 2007/4/3 - 9:51:7

I don't know why, but I really enjoyed doing this one. I guess it's just something different than what I normally do. It was fun. :)
cinder303 2007/2/3 - 0:42:0
I like the way you did the clouds :D

I so wanting it to be summer.. I hate winter (I'm egyptian so I like heat).. umm, it didn't look quite finished being just b&w so I added a pop of red and some light pink. this was fun I finished my math exam no more math! ever ever again!
z 2007/1/25 - 18:25:18
So pretty~..Egyptians are pretty too. Though my Syrian friend is beautiful..and my friend from Jordan has beautiful skin..All Middle Eastern women and North Eastern Africans are beautiful.
twinkledraak 2007/1/30 - 11:56:32
I love summer to. I always go to egypt in holiday :). Pretty country and very nice people and of course a beautifull sealife :)!
Pretty drawing the red and pink gives the black and white something specials :)!
cinder303 2007/1/30 - 19:48:22
The details on the blanket really add to the composition :)

Virtual apple.
The text-tool is annoying to no end -.- Got lazy on some parts, but I'm still quite satisfied with how it turned out :) Oh, and about the background. I tried many times to make a background that fitted the image, but in the end I found out it looked better without it.
cinder303 2007/1/21 - 18:38:22
Very cool! I like how unique her face is.. Nice choice of colours, too ^-^
bananarana 2007/1/23 - 9:14:36
I adore how the apple stands out so brilliantly in this picture! I normally don't "critique" a picture whose artisit didn't ask for one, but I just wanna say onnnne thinggggg.... D: Her right (our left) hand is gone! Or just not as pronounced as the other one. But otherwise, the shading on the face and torso is wonderfully done, and the hair looks so immaculate! Did I mention that I loved the apple? ;)
elolinon 2007/1/23 - 10:30:52
Thank you :D Yeah, I forgot that hand , which from the beginning was meant to be faded with the rest of her lower body, but now it looks kinda funny xD Next time I will remember to finish all parts before I save the pic ^^
ryoanna 2007/1/23 - 20:6:34
So cool.. love the greenish reflection... and not to mention that apple :D
twinkledraak 2007/1/30 - 11:51:56
I love it :)! Her face and apple are pretty :)! Really cool and unique style :).

'the young gods'
i was thinking earlier about the kind of guys i used to like when i was younger - effeminate, long hair, sensitive. as i got older my tastes changed and i started to like more masculine guys with muscles and facial hair and the capacity to just suck it up sometimes. i wondered if my drawing style had reflected that change in attitude.

he's not really hyper masculine, but you shoulda seen the guys i used to draw.
lorelai 2007/1/22 - 8:44:12
Holy WOW! SelanKatt returns!!!! <3
ryoanna 2007/1/23 - 20:7:24
Nice job.. love the skin tones :) Good work.
twinkledraak 2007/1/30 - 11:53:56

I started watchingthis anime called Haibane something, I forget. It was about this society of angel like people. Comments please.
senobdec 2007/1/20 - 3:4:47
Haibane Renmei - still one of the best anime I have ever watched.
I think you'll enjoy it. I like the way you contrast the "angel" in shadow with the crows (with glowing eyes).
But... what happened to the hair ;)?

elolinon 2007/1/20 - 11:36:39
Wow! That shading looks very realistic :) I love Haibane Renmei also, too bad it's only 13 episodes :( Oh, you portrayed the crows too :D Even one more thing I love in Yoshitisho ABe's works. )
dorothyblueeyes 2007/1/20 - 16:29:41
Yes, very nice shadowing and shading with the figure,too.Nice.
cretin 2007/1/20 - 19:29:10
Beautiful work, especially on those buildings. The shading on the angel is really nicely carried out. Very surreal. :)
