"There Are A Million Oekaki Sites!AGGH!"--the lament of an Oekaki addict. sigh.est moi. Pardon me for putting it in the polished room, you can zonk it anywhere you like.
bandersnatchsm 2007/5/18 - 15:42:37
I love the colors!
Your lines always convey so much emotion, I wish I could raise myself to the level of expression you have attained.
ko3d 2007/5/19 - 8:59:21
Haha this is awesome. I love the whole thing.
mika 2007/5/20 - 21:54:21
I'd say your work is somewhat like Warhol's 'Pop-art' except his was dull and flat and yours is alive and layered, yours is always most definately fun to look at......I love the way you jump through so many subject matters and poses.....:D
Hehehe I've joined oodles of oekaki sites but tend to hang around just three of them (most are so up their own asses it's a wonder they can see the screen to throw out people's applications...:))
dorothyblueeyes 2007/5/21 - 0:1:48
Thanks for the comments;I wanted this cartoon-illustration to "pop OUT" like the huge paintings that mocked cartoon strips(was that Liechentstein?)so the message would be clear, and not messed up with paint, artsy style.(I'm more familiar with Warhol's portraits, mostly.)
So,yes, this is not "fine art" cause (1.)I needed to put the picture down quickly,I did not have much time(2.)I wanted the story to really "pop".I mean,it's about so many Oekaki sites,is it not?"The style suits the message."
It's IS kind of satirical, too, making fun of my obessisve Oekaki fascination."The Addict." : ) It was fun.

lorelai 2007/5/5 - 14:51:4
Awwww, does it have to be Naruto? Minus that headband it could just be a super cool bishy =D
<--- not a Naruto fan, bitter because it ate so many of my friends
phil 2007/5/9 - 18:54:47
mmm textures:P yay naruto oh noes at his nose and lips o.o but i guess he is older :D
dorothyblueeyes 2007/5/15 - 21:25:32

chrislagace 2007/6/20 - 12:25:28

z 2007/6/26 - 5:44:59

elolinon 2007/5/3 - 12:12:49
Very realistic ! Gotta love those clouds too, they make a dramatic atmosphere.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/5/5 - 3:27:0
Yes,I like this a lot,too.
lorelai 2007/5/5 - 14:54:53
kougra_girl 2007/5/7 - 20:13:49
this looks almost like a photo manipulation o.o love her expression, the edge of the picture...the colors, atmostpere....all of it. and how the light seems to be coming from her one hand. definitely gallery material here :)
phil 2007/5/9 - 18:55:32
woah enough said!
maemay 2007/5/12 - 15:30:1
That is so cool. I love your background. Seems gothicish. I really like it.
senobdec 2007/5/13 - 0:27:26
Very nice, I dig the foggy background.
jakusama 2007/5/27 - 4:37:54
this is just... completely amazing. I really love the border and for some reason I really like her eyes

OH GOD MY HAND. AND MY EYES.
Anyways, Johnny Depp, who is also the best actor alive. I drew him as agent Sands in Once upon a time in Mexico, because he completely owned everyone else in there. And what did they do to him? THEY CUT HIS EYES OUT D: But he's still awesome :P
golden 2007/4/28 - 3:55:9
Meant to be in the polished room, since I put down so much time on it.. But ah well.
senobdec 2007/4/28 - 11:21:42
Superb. Link to ref? Love the texturing of the skin BTW, especially the highlighted cheek and the chin.
lorelai 2007/4/28 - 12:3:3
Great job! I'll move it for you.
elolinon 2007/4/28 - 12:46:56
Omg awesomeness O.o You've done it again... I love how you made the shadows/highlights in his face, it looks totally realistic and sharp at the same time. Nice colouring and I admire how you manages to catch the light in the moment. It's like he's going to move and like... walk out of the frame any second! Too bad I haven't seen the movie, because Depp ROCKS MY SOCKS.
ryoanna 2007/4/28 - 19:32:52
JOHNNY = <3333
I lub you >:3
golden 2007/4/29 - 0:0:29
senobdec: I saved the ref picture in my computer, so I don't have the link :( But it's a screencap from the movie.
umi-chan 2007/5/2 - 9:47:56
skweee >.< johnny !!! this is so good, as soon as i saw it i knew which movie this was! *claps then faints*
dorothyblueeyes 2007/5/5 - 3:26:23
I had no idea this software could do this. Wow. Amazing. beautiful. sigh
lorelai 2007/5/5 - 14:52:26
Moving again, to Gallery =D you should be able to post there.
mika 2007/5/6 - 3:21:49
Extraordinarily well drawn, and I just gotta love those shadows and colour scheme in general, I'll admit to not knowing who it was having not seen the film or bing a fan but it still rawks.........and it isn't anime which is a plus for a start off.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/5/18 - 1:48:32
OOPS, now that I see this painting again, maybe you better zonk my miserable little cartoon out of here, ///"oekaki addict." :(
naty 2007/6/6 - 16:12:52
OMG I love youuu! <3.. Johnny Depp is so awesome, you rocked the skin tones! :3 Great job! ^^
blumeaniandglove 2007/6/19 - 8:50:57
the best part of that movie is when he doesn't have any eyes, you know?
golden 2007/6/29 - 6:1:24
haha maybe, but I just love his eyes so much D:

...oh this is an afghanistan girl...inspired by this photo..
syzygy 2007/4/22 - 0:50:46
Her eyes are so expressive, and I adore the folds in her clothes. Awesome work.
senobdec 2007/4/24 - 20:2:30
Nice job, the eyes really stand out (perhaps a bit much, but it works well).
P.S. That's one of the most famous National Geographic photos: [link]
gleeful1 2007/6/5 - 17:51:21
her hair is incredibly smooth and well done. you really captured the essence of the photograph by bringing out her startling green eyes!
epiphanymoonchild 2007/7/9 - 23:43:30
Her name is Sharbat Gula, those piercing eyes could move the universe.

This is kinda my idea of a "modern" version of an angel, no emotions and simular to a robot ^^
O_o omg, this was fustrating to do. quite a few parts that im not satisfyed with but overall I'm happy ^^
blacklight 2007/4/13 - 17:3:6
I think you did very well. I especially like the sunglasses.
lexieangel 2007/4/14 - 12:12:27
this is sooo pretty. i like it lots :) . i love the purple coulers aswell. and the blue paint on her face :)
phil 2007/4/14 - 12:42:50
i love the way it seems to shine
kougra_girl 2007/4/14 - 19:18:25
the colors you used are nice and i love how this is just so...relaxed in a way. her eyes are pretty and the shine makes the picture pop out more i think :) only thing is her ear is a tad too small.
maemay 2007/4/21 - 20:16:50
Such beautiful colours and I love all the details.
syzygy 2007/4/22 - 0:51:9
Love the way the shoulder is pulled up here, and I especially love the wings! Great job.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/5/15 - 21:29:34
Very pretty and such nice detailing.(hmm..do you think people's personalities, denote the way they draw?Like,I';m messy, she';s very neat.Maybe I am also a messy person,in my life? And this person;s life is more well organized? This artist is not messy,is clean, and takes care of details in her life well?Just wondering. )
gleeful1 2007/6/5 - 17:53:6
aw it still looks like she has emotions - almost forlorn. i appreciate how you did not "over-shine" the piece. great job!

a self portrait with a lot of embellishment haha. i'm really glad this didn't get lost when my computer freaked out! it took me about 3 hours...i am putting it here tentatively, anyone who disagrees don't hesitate to move it!
ryoanna 2007/4/12 - 15:13:35
Awesome! Love the colours you've used :) Nice work.
blacklight 2007/4/13 - 17:2:16

syzygy 2007/4/19 - 14:19:55
I always love your stuff. It's so interesting. This is awesome to the awesome.. the teeth are great (on the cheeks), and the eyes are so soft and hold en expression I just can't place. You rock the world.
mika 2007/5/6 - 3:25:1
Crazy, but you always are.....and we're thankful for it...
dorothyblueeyes 2007/5/15 - 21:35:44
You are an amazing artist; terrifically good.NO joke.Obviously, you can do portraits.and paint, for sure.Cool!!!(and I like the embellishments, too.)
So,what would that say about this artist,if that were true? She's very talented, and she is "fussy"(?)Not meant to be nasty,)cause she loves wierd little details, and wierd, strange stuff,in her regular life. Just trying to see if drawing style also describes the person,I may be way off.sorry.)
spoonalshmee 2007/5/27 - 18:4:28
dorothy: your description sounds hilariously accurate :D & thanks very much :)

been so busy so i took a drawing break! I wanted to do something with a butterfly and got this ^^ hope its good enough. the background is lacking but i couldnt really think of anything else. YAY BUTTERFLIES!
elolinon 2007/4/1 - 0:24:52
Ooh... Nice haircolour :D It goes well with the blue ribbon.
ryoanna 2007/4/1 - 21:55:5
Gorgeous! Love the butterfly too, it adds a nice touch :)
jakusama 2007/4/3 - 9:47:9
I really, really like the hair for some reason. Thats what drew me to this picture initially, and not because it was flaming red. I really like how it resembles liquid, it seems to fit her very well. ...I want the butterfly too. The overall picture is relativly simple, and yet it doesnt need detail.. the eye is really pretty too.
kougra_girl 2007/4/10 - 5:48:15
i love the butterfly tattoo on her face :) her hair is nice and the eye is very pretty!
phil 2007/4/11 - 19:8:30
love her hair and the butterfly thing
maemay 2007/4/21 - 20:18:26
You definatly have your own style that sticks out. I just scrolled down to see this and knew it was yours. I love all your detail with the butterfly.
