Think green, trees, gas, air, fog, it fits. I love how this site is still here to welcome me back even though I've been gone for a year. Ah the familiar worn jacket that is oekaki. This is a mini digital representation of a painting I made with ink and charcoal. If you look hard enough you can see my soul wandering the edges of the fog. ^-^
jakusama 2008/10/9 - 0:46:12
So cute! I'd love to see a link to a picture of the original, if you can. I bet it was lovely! Glad you're back, and I hope to see more from you. Love the shading and use of black and white here. Fabulous!
mika 2008/10/25 - 1:24:22
It's weird and in black and white.....yep I love it!

when love removes
the bitter root
the hand which suffocates the fruit
will fall away
the buried seed will
let me grow
oh please
let me be as Your tree

once again, a beautiful oekaki
such a tender moment you've drawn here.... I love how the composition focuses your attention to the box and the yellow seedlings. The expression on the character's faces is one of nurturing hope...as if all they have rests on the fate of that box... they're like two parents, and the seeds are their children.... I love it. And as an added note, that green in the bg is delicious ^^
mrgrt 2008/5/21 - 18:7:35
thanks alot
snoopywar 2008/5/21 - 19:44:37

Spring Peeps Thru In Oregon:

(just a sketch of sunlight in late morning, peeping thru,we are eventually having Spring(with lots of cold rain, and even snow, yes, snow in spring, and hail;wierd weather even for Oregon)It feels unfinished, yes, but it's kinda yes, undone.
sankyu 2008/4/14 - 14:29:46
Sounds kinda like England. I know you have trouble drawing these days and it's beautiful nonetheless. Also your colours are perfect.
baeduxai 2008/4/23 - 6:25:55

Early Flower Being Blown Apart In Cold Spring.

--ok,ok,wierd,messy,unrealistic,did this for hours, and ..duh..had tons of fun,(who cares about elbow-tendons anyhow,i don't need em)accompanied by Mozart piano concerto"Rite Of Spring"on University of Oregon Classical music station,Sat.nite,(you can dig it online, too, streaming.it has opera sat. afternoons.)My feet are freezing.Fortunately, for a few hours,i forgot i have a body.yeah, this is lame, compared to other stuff here;theme room is blossoming! :)
jakusama 2008/3/23 - 20:32:43
I like the "messiness" of it. I think it really adds to the picture, actually. I love the lighting on it, too. It's pretty neat.
lorelai 2008/4/23 - 14:3:26
it looks like a girl's hair being blown by the wind....which I think is entirely appropriate!

lavalizard 2008/3/5 - 16:9:4
That's such an awesome idea:-)
You did a great job blending the human and tree features together. Very pretty picture:-)
dorothyblueeyes 2008/3/22 - 19:6:9
Fan-tast-tic; she is SO the tree.ahhhh. :) the flesh, muscles, and the bumps, shapes of the tree, texture,go so well together.sigh.one of my favorite themes,"people as trees,or people as Nature."
jakusama 2008/3/23 - 20:32:8
Wow. I'll never think of tree nymphs the same way again. This is just amazing. Awesome job. (As usual.)
gleeful1 2008/3/30 - 16:19:3

Hi again! Surprised? Miss me? Well..

Blurry, watery trees!
bananarana 2008/2/26 - 13:9:15
Blurry, watery trees in all their delicious soupy glory! I'm certainly taking a long drink out of this foliage!
golden 2008/2/27 - 8:36:40
I love the blurriness of this.. It reminds me of fog.
lorelai 2008/3/3 - 23:43:46
gosh it's good to see you oekaking =D

Thanks Lor, I appreciate it.
dorothyblueeyes 2008/3/22 - 19:12:40
i'm crying ,this is so beautiful;(sniff.)Is your last name Rembrandt??(maybe this is more Italian,mm...chiaro scuro (spelling?)--how the darkness blends, especially in the upper foilage, this would be welcome in any Italian Renisance (spelling, sorry)collection.
sankyu 2008/3/24 - 0:22:33
Nah, I'm from Liverpool! Perhaps I was posessed. I'm honoured, though.

Sakura Tree o.O I guess.
bananarana 2008/2/26 - 13:13:13
For some reason, I love that these flowers haven't fully bloomed. You always see pictures where the tree is full of pretty pink cherry blossoms, and here is finally one where the beauty is just beginning to bloom.
dorothyblueeyes 2008/3/22 - 19:14:8
pretty,like the coloring,nice; yes,it's nice,not all flowered,you're right

This makes me think of that tree from Big Fish (not that I've seen the movie, but I have read the book and seen the movie cover?). I love all the colors you put into the tree trunk, and that everything in this picture just seems to -glow.-
dorothyblueeyes 2008/3/22 - 19:15:15
yep; gorgeous;great coloring too.
