The Theme Room's subject right now is: The Holidays. Because...aren't you happy they're coming up?

Study break from exams. There's prolly an hour less than the time says.

It feels incomplete somehow, but I don't know what else I could have put in. Any suggestions for the ocean and sand? Or just shading in general, mine's awful...

This is pretty peaceful! I think maybe some brighter highlights on the water might look nice, but at the same time, the sky looks kinda cloudy so maybe there wouldn't be that much highlights >___>

Is she waiting for someone? :D

your colors and brushstrokes aren't bad, I think it's just that you didn't really lighten up the colors enough to suggest a background that is a lot farther away from the viewer than the girl, so it looks flat :)

very pretty, i love the atmosphere. the colors all go really well together, too.
in the psych class i took this semester we had this really interesting talk about depth cues - some of them were superobvious (like overlap), but some of them were totally helpful for drawing - like things getting less textured in the distance, and being darker or lighter (like lorelai mentioned). it might help to try making the ocean, sand, and sky to either get darker or lighter as they approach the horizon. hope any of that is helpful :)
