POlished beacuse this was the first oekaki I worked sooooooo long on! I'm serious! I know this is way off. But lorelai told me to draw everything I saw. So I drew this book's cover page Alanna: the first Adventure by Tamora Pierce. (The 2005 version of course) here's the link:

I know...WAY off! but lorelai told me to. I saw her work and I was awed, thus I give this to lorelai aswell! (I guess that's the best horse I've ever drew my whole life!)

I don't think it's too bad. Especially considering the difference in media and technique being used.

You managed to get a good feel for your representation--and that's part of what art is about, our own representation. Whether you're depicting something from life or imagination. Sometimes it's more important to get the feeling and the mood than it is to get things 100% accurate.

There's something about her hair that I just love, and her eyes are gorgeous as well :)

Wow keyblademaster, your getting really good really fast I'm so proud of you, I have no where near your dedication! The pic is wonderful, its not perfect, yeah but it's still crazily amazing, your shading is getting better and your paying more attention to detail, keep practicing and soon you'll be rollin with the hall'a'famers :)

you're really improving :D
i've gotta say though, even though i'm not a horse type, i like that horse. A lot.
keep it up man!

oh my god i'm so honored!!!
And GREAT JOB. If you keep it up, your improvement's sure to be phenomenal. Be careful though! Don't just draw other people's illustrations! You want to develop your own style, not just work off someone else's. When I said draw everything you see, I also included real life/still life. One of my favorite pasttimes in college was to sit on a park bench and draw the people walking by. :)

DEFINITELY AWESOME. good job! wow...
and i really agree with lorelai, it's really important to draw from life! when you draw from life, your style emerges naturally because you are reacting to something that you can hear and smell {and possibly touch and taste}, as well as just see. you know what i mean? it's hard at first, but don't give up! you've got talent to boot :)
