This is my first Oekaki in at least 2 years ^^;;; I'm really out of practise. Anyway this is a really bad drawing of Tifa Lockheart from Final Fantasy VII. I had no inspiration at all, so I decided to draw Tifa, because she is my all time FF character! The pose is really lame too ><;;;
I think I need practise. The background is meant to be clouds.
I hope this belongs in here. Take about 45mins off the timer. C&C welcome.

I love those eyes, and the hairstyle is nice too.
Hope to see your art around here more :D

I love the eyes and hair as well. The shading is wonderful, and I love the way the edges of her eyes are kind of blurred.

good lord, you certainly have been away awhile....even I can't remember you, but still it's good to see you back, I hope you stick around a bit longer this time....:)

I'll be honest, I think the expression borders on comical and seems fake to me. I understand your exagerating proportions to achieve an anime look but I feel the overall shape of the face is a bit too sharp and un-natural. I'm unsure what she is trying to convey but to me it just looks a bit like she was hit on the back of the head, and maybe mentally weak. I'm sorry to leave a kinda pessimistic sounding comment, and I think you posses enough natural ability to hone yourself into something more, or else I wouldn't have commented. I guess next time try and capture the character in a more relaxed, believable expression, and work on your facial structure a bit.

insomniacmg, I think there could have been a nicer way of expressing your crits on this piece of work. It is obvious that you do not mean to be so biting and caustic, but when I first read your comment I couldn't help but feel you were attempting to insult the artist. Perhaps a less "pessimistic" (as you said) way of wording your C & C would be ideal in the future. But nevertheless, I do agree with you on some things. darkshines, to me, it seems that her head is too forward/to our right. This can easily be remedied by moving her head to our left (her right), or scootching her body to our right (her left) so her head is more "on top" of her neck instead of off to the side (I hope that made sense). The pose is cute and suits Tifa's optimistic attitude well. Keep drawing; I look forward to seeing how you improve. ^^

Crit: see Mika and Lorelai's work. Then sob like I do. Seriously, everyone has trouble with proportions and anatomy - that's why "anime" was created, it's just a simplified and anatomically incorrect style.
---Lines, though I am guilty also of jaggedy lineart, it isn't as noticeable unless you cel-shade as you did here. The framing is a bit odd too but hey, it's the default frame and it's hard to use effectively. Good luck and I hope to see you drawing here again.
