lā lā, i hate it, i do. i was doodling and before i knew it i had made the face. i couldn't leave it unfinished, though it was too late to change the colours. ugh, yucky colour combo. the picture itself seems to make no sense whatsoever ;D
jakusama 2007/6/26 - 8:36:19
Actually, I really fancy the colors in the picture, and I love the swirls and folds of the dress. I'm so envious you can do that so well. And since when did art make sense? :D I really do like the colors... and the dress. Yum.
golden 2007/6/26 - 10:44:45
noooo, the colors are pretty :o and I love how you painted the dress and the balloon. I agree with jakusama, art is not supposed to make sense.
embo 2007/6/26 - 14:58:46
actually, the turquoise-ish color on the red is stunning, but maybe some dark brown hair instead? the composition is really great by mimicing the shape of the balloon in areas like the flutters of her dress and the long rectangular canvas.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/6/26 - 19:40:11
This is quite sensual and beautiful, making use of the fabric of the dress,as if it were a coture show, like Alexander McQueen,or Galiano,(for you fashion-freaks,who are into that, like me,)on a run-way,with fabulous huge wigs of bright colors. Not that unbelievable,if you have seen lotsa wild fashion shows, online. sigh, wonderful use of colors. uh.,,,I LOVE it! The way the colors and shading are used to sculpt forms, so well. Very effective.
dorothyblueeyes 2007/6/26 - 19:45:50
"Art is not supposed to make sense."Like I said, they DO have wild fashion shows, very extreme, very similar to this picture,so this artist may be psychic. heh heh.
chrislagace 2007/6/26 - 21:11:27
hate it? why? but its so pretty. the dress looks amazing and gives it tons of character and motion even though everything else is stationary (if that makes sense)
elolinon 2007/6/27 - 3:20:27
You have an awesome feeling for colouring o.O And yay for doodles : )
lorelai 2007/6/27 - 18:24:46
i think it's absolutely gorgeous.
maemay 2007/6/28 - 13:27:34
I love the dress nad the motion and her Texas big hair. It's a nice darkness to it like she was at a county fair and a storm is arriving in the middle of her fun. I'm wierd, i know.
mitsu 2007/6/29 - 22:33:26
Can I get a big HELL YEAH for those colors? Because they are fabulous, and so are you. Nothing wrong with a little workout for the ol' eyeparts, so bring on the colorific pop!
bandersnatchsm 2007/7/5 - 11:14:5
Don't forget that your hardest critic is always yourself!
I wish this was a real painting so I could buy a print from you and frame it and put it in my room; but alas it is low resolution... It would make a fantastic bookmark, though!
enshoku 2007/7/5 - 20:1:22
OMG. This is beautiful use of color. O_O I'm loving the complementary colors. It's quite energetic. :D
laurie-kay 2007/7/14 - 20:32:8
Beautiful. The flow, and colours, are amazing.
lorelai 2008/11/8 - 2:6:54
Hall of Famed because I simply must prove how daft you are to not like this picture <3 11/6/08

elolinon 2007/6/19 - 13:51:42
Things reallt change when they get under water o.O Me, photoref used, but It's a personal photo so I don't have it scanned. :) The quality was rather bad though, and a photo taken with flash underwater really doesn't improve the circumstances xD And oh, by the way - hereby I declare my eternal hate against BUBBLES! Wish I had some more skills in background-making -.-
z 2007/6/19 - 20:17:5
I feel so bad about pushing this down because it's so realistic and beautifullll. D: The bubbles look fanTASTIC. Her neck is so awesomely shaded~. Oooh.. <3 I love it. If this were DA I'd :+fav:. D:
chrislagace 2007/6/19 - 23:19:10
oo this is really wicked ^^
sabii 2007/6/20 - 0:37:50
that's so fab :D i love how it all sits together
zestroy 2007/6/20 - 2:24:4
i really like the skintonws you used :O
embo 2007/6/20 - 2:48:14
yeah ditto on the skintones. I just really like this color trio of peach blue and dark brown. very pleasing to the eyes.
golden 2007/6/20 - 8:24:56
I still can't get over how you can just paint underwater pictures and make them look like UNDERWATER. gaaaaah
anyways.. it's an amazing picture. I'm in love with every little detail.
jakusama 2007/6/21 - 10:12:7
Oh my god this is amazing! I cant really pick out anything in particular I like... really all of it... I love the colors very much... wonderful job
dark-angel 2007/6/22 - 16:33:24
I wish I could draw like this!
dorothyblueeyes 2007/6/23 - 4:46:53
yeah, this is amazing; heh heh. under the darn pool, looks great!
eraserhead 2007/6/24 - 2:40:59
The bubbles fit nicely with the slightly surrealist look of the pic -which rocks bigtime by the way, a very nice break from the norm.
lorelai 2007/6/27 - 18:25:52
there ain't a darn thing WRONG with this background. It's perfect in every way. <3
mitsu 2007/6/29 - 22:31:37
Awesome pictures... in My Internets? Getoutahere.
No, no, I mean draw more.
Those skintones--hello-o, freakin' awesome. Underwater atmosphere at its finest. :}

elolinon 2007/4/13 - 0:11:24
Nice colouring :) The part i like the most is the highlighting in her hair.
syzygy 2007/4/22 - 0:52:21
I always loved your solid style, and the mouth here is awesome. You're style makes me happy ^__^
dorothyblueeyes 2007/5/15 - 21:37:15

I haven't posted here or done any oekaki in so, so long. I think I forgot a lot of stuff, little techniques and ways of doing things. But, ah, well. Hello again, TACo.
happywaterbottle 2007/3/23 - 18:33:10
I remember youuu!
welcome back! :D
I am jealous of your skill to draw hands ;_;
senobdec 2007/3/23 - 21:19:31
Hi Andy, I see your skills have improved considerably since last we saw you :D. The hair and subtle highlighights and shading on the skin are great!
elolinon 2007/3/24 - 8:34:27
She looks like a porcelain doll. And indeed, I adore your skills in drawing hands !
sabii 2007/3/24 - 9:9:31
ooooooooooooooh my, so detailed and beautiful! i love her porcelain skin, i love the colours and lightness.
ryoanna 2007/3/24 - 21:25:23
golden 2007/3/25 - 12:45:7
what a porcelain skin :) and that face is <33 this is how a good oekaki should look like, not too overdone but still showing considerable drawing skills. or in this case it's more than just considerable.
blacklight 2007/3/25 - 16:43:16
beautiful! so shiny, and I like the giant ringlets in the hair.
lorelai 2007/3/26 - 1:41:5
geeze! you literally took my breath away :)
lorelai 2007/3/26 - 1:41:58
This is too beautiful to leave in the Drawing Room, i MUST put this in the Gallery. I invite you to use the Gallery in the future for your lovely oekaki works so that others may enjoy them there!
sunkite 2007/3/26 - 17:4:1
gorrgeous! i love her style :)
heavenlystrike 2007/3/28 - 18:44:13
:O this is too awesome for my eyes...the shading is so great! and that hand.. i mean how do you acheive that? I agree she looks like a doll, almost like a ghostly doll...gorgeous n_n
dorothyblueeyes 2007/4/2 - 13:54:12
Yes,the style is beautiful and serene, which may explain why I canot do stuff to get into the Gallery or the Polished room; I can't feel serene enough to do beautiful stuff like that. My troubled mind and emotions stick out too much, and ruin my artwork, and get in the way.Ourselves are not supposed to interfere with our artwork product, but sometimes it just does not work out.
maemay 2007/4/21 - 18:7:22
That's so pretty. I love the colours and the ocean in the background. Plus the outfit.
gleeful1 2007/6/5 - 17:56:34
whoa! the way that she leans towards the viewer is SO exceptional. i am in awe with her position *_*
lorelai 2008/2/20 - 22:47:11
one of THE most amazing oekakis I have EVER seen. Hall of Fame 2/20/08.

Referenced from a screencap of Supernatural, 2x11.
I tried a lot of new things with this picture, and I'm fairly pleased with it overall. There're still a few things that could be worked on, but I figure it's done enough. Fun to do, anyway. :)
cinder303 2007/1/22 - 18:10:45
Very unique! That skin is so well done... It looks real! Nice job on the bottles!
blumeaniandglove 2007/1/23 - 5:41:58
I think the world needs way more old men.
sabii 2007/1/23 - 8:35:6
yesss, the lighting is great. good job!
bananarana 2007/1/23 - 9:11:9
It actually reminds me of the short story whose name I can't remember right now. "The Something of Montiago," I think. I like the darkness of the piece, with just enough light to highlight various objects and draw our attention. ; )
z 2007/1/23 - 18:12:29
..-hugs the subject and artist- Interplanal hugs.
I love wrinkly things.
People, dogs, used tissues..
MORE WRINKLY THINGS!

lorelai 2007/1/29 - 11:56:57
brilliant transformation from screencap to oekaki. brilliant.
blacklight 2007/1/29 - 20:22:8
this old guy is way cool. I also like how the lighting is reflected in the bottles so well.
twinkledraak 2007/1/30 - 11:49:49

Goodness. This is amazing.
hoshi 2007/2/27 - 0:47:26
*stares* I had to blink twice to make I wasn't looking at a real photo. I really love the way you did the skin for the old man. The wrinkles look real.
lorelai 2008/2/5 - 10:4:44
Woohoo 20th comment! Hall of Famed on 2/5/08. Like, wow?
jakusama 2008/3/23 - 20:33:56
Wow! How did I miss this the first time around? This is REALLY neat. This is SO totally in the right room now.
dorothyblueeyes 2008/4/10 - 13:42:16
This is great; you subscribe to my school of art",light on dark"; this also reminds me of a scratchboard,or etching, cause of the light technique. Beautiful!! :)

She's beautiful. @_@
cinder303 2007/1/15 - 16:0:58
I really like her face/ chest :D
I am so jealous of your inking D:
blumeaniandglove 2007/1/15 - 19:24:36
how can it be so sharp and so soft at the same time?
i don't understand.
it's a modern miracle.
blacklight 2007/1/15 - 22:39:12
pretty cool. It looks like it could be made into a stamp.
cretin 2007/1/17 - 14:43:4

kougra_girl 2007/1/17 - 14:49:24

senobdec 2007/1/20 - 3:10:0
Very nice high-contrast pic. The pose and feel is just right. Plus what's not to like about half-nekkid girls :D?
dorothyblueeyes 2007/1/20 - 16:30:35
Your inking is very wonderful, great.

Forcefully inspired by Josh Groban's "Mai".
Good song, you should have a listen.
I don't think that it actually took that long. o.O Maybe 5 hours?
sabii 2006/12/27 - 1:22:12
oh, looks rather fantactic and unusual!
xiala 2006/12/27 - 8:16:53

ryoanna 2006/12/27 - 12:4:10
Nice!! Awesome job :)
lorelai 2006/12/27 - 13:34:54
I think this is absolutely amazing. What's also amazing is that a song can conjure up this kind of image. (I'm assuming "song" because you mentioned Josh Groban). Looks like Imma have to do a little listenin'! :)
dorothyblueeyes 2006/12/29 - 3:9:37
wow, wonderful effect, this great dive, I like it.

happywaterbottle 2006/12/24 - 7:9:22
that's so awesome! I remember that scene! Poor Alice she was stuck with an impossible flamingo! *definitively agrees for Hall of Fame*
dorothyblueeyes 2006/12/24 - 17:47:59
Christ,I do not think I have been able to get "this degree of real painting" like this picture.Did you have models? Are you a painting major somewhere,or a professional? Zow,I cannot get the software to do this, for me,yet, this "painty feel of paint" like this.Plus,it is also just a wondeful job of painting. oowww, I;m so jealous. (turns many shades of green.)_
sabii 2006/12/25 - 0:57:22
oh, thank you all, i wasn't expecting that.
i go to an art school, it's my second year now. i'm no professional :p i, on the other hand, can not get my digital art to look like... digital art! it always comes out paintery and messy :/ i've been spending too much time painting with oils for school.
sabii 2006/12/25 - 1:0:44
oh and right, no models. just from my head..
lorelai 2006/12/28 - 9:58:19
Actually, I got a better idea than Hall of Fame. Welcome to the Gallery. :)
sabii 2006/12/28 - 12:29:10
omfg? this means... this means i get gallery access for further posts!? HORAY! thankyou, lorelai xD
happywaterbottle 2006/12/29 - 10:20:37
congrats for gallery access :D
now flood us with some beauty!! xD
lorelai 2007/1/2 - 10:37:9
well you totally deserve it...! =D
golden 2007/1/13 - 3:7:32
Well this "paintery and messy" style of yours is wonderful ^^ There is already so much digital-looking art on the net, so it's refreshing to see something more traditional. Haha, I just love how Alice is struggling with her flamingo.
senobdec 2007/3/2 - 21:1:44
Whoa, never commented on this. Great loose style. Your control of colors is great.
