Character Name: Zidane Tribal Series: Final Fantasy IX Debut: Anime Expo 2001 Construction Notes: Out of all my costumes, this has GOT to be THE most recognized. I wore it to AX01 for the masquerade in a Square-related skit. The costume itself wasn't too hard to make, although I had higher expectations for things like the pants and gloves. I just ran out of time. I used an old pair of baggy jeans and stitched a long tail with boning inside to make it curl. The top was made from altering a denim vest I bought at a 2nd-hand store. I pulled it apart, cropped it to make a pattern, and made a reverse-able vest with a layer of padding to give it some bulk. I guestimated a pattern for the boot covers and used a cotton doile I found at WalMart.
